Lance,
There are two complete cars going for very cheap numbers.
First is the Zuerst listed at $7k
Second is the Caracal D clone in Pittsburg listed on the SRacing for sale page for $7,500
The Zuerst is a better deal, already set up for dry sump. The Caracal is closer, but will need more to get it 100% ready

"Wait, which one is the gas pedal again?"
Thanks for the reply Bill. I'd like to find some for around $4500-$5000.

I wouldn't mind finding a few in that price range myself!
As we all know, there is an asking price (typically listed in the ad) and then the amount the car actually sold for.
The Zuerst/Jacer currently has the lowest asking price at $7k
The next two, '95 Citation and the Caracal D clone are asking $7,500 and both need work. I heard rumor that the Citation had a deal going for $5k, but it fell through when the buyer wanted photos and was refused. There are a number of stillborn projects around the Midwest, but little is known of those and none are listed for sale.
In looking at the master list http://www.apexspeed.com/forums/show...67&postcount=1 Here is a list of cars that have not been raced for a while.
BRD – Dimitri Mariutto – Nashville, TN
Campbell Evolution – Dimitri Mariutto – Nashville, TN
Citation - Glen Trimper – Richmond, VA
Citation/Lynx - Don Smith – Xenia, OH
Lynx B – Jon Kerfoot – Bixby, OK
Zink Z-18B – Noah Smith – Morrow, OH
Caracal D - Tony DiCesaro – Pittsburgh, PA
Adams Aero Jay - Ryan Gorman - Wauseon, OH
Protoform P2 – Doug Sontag – Georgetown, KY
These are all cars that have raced in SCCA (log books and homo papers), but they have not been to the track in at least a year (some way more). Track them down and find out if one (or more) of these cars could be bought in a price range that fits your liking.
