    Default FM Technical Bulletin 2011.02.16



    TO: ALL Formula Mazda Competitors

    FROM: Moses Smith Racing – FM Manufacturer

    PURPOSE: In 2011, it is the goal of Moses Smith Racing to improve the integrity of the Formula Mazda and the use of Compliant Parts by all competitors, as well as the effectiveness of TECH at SCCA and Formula Car Challenge events.

    Please expect your cars to be teched more thoroughly than in the recent past. Be thankful for it and please be patient with your tech officials. This is what makes Formula Mazda racing so great!

    ACTIONS:

    The following items can/and should be inspected by officials at SCCA or other Formula Car Challenge races. This is not a list of rule changes, but a notice to all competitors of items to expect to be ‘teched’ at events in 2011. Items include but are not limited to the following, and are in accordance with the SCCA General Competition Rules.

    • Chokes – 44mm measured with a go - no go gauge
    • Emulsion Tubes – F15 – a sample emulsion tube can be used for tech
    • Rev Limit o Brake Rotor thickness
    • Wing profile – measured with a wing template.
    • Weight of car o CV Joints – the use of lightened CV joints is not permitted.
    • Functioning alternator with two belts
    • CV boots - aero boots are not compliant
    • Current Engine Seals are required per the SCCA GCR
