    Default 1985 Reynard F2000

Came across this Reynard for sale. Anyone have an idea if it would be allowed in FC or CFC, and could it be competitive? Price is right, but.............

    Default A few links...

CFC rules vary by club/region, so I would check with the club with which you wish to compete. I believe, by default, a CFC can run in FC; therefore, the noted car can definitely compete in FC.

Here are a few links regarding the 85 Reynard as well as the noted car for sale:

15 inch wheels ! But another set of wheels should be no problem.

Yes, good price and can run CFC of FC.

Only issue I see is why the engine is down 25 HP or so from a good Pinto.

We picked up a former Bridgestone Racing Academy 1985 Reynard in 2009 and ran it with FRCCA in 2010. The car had been well maintained at the racing academy and it ran great for us with few problems once we got the cooling system figured out. New wheels direct from Compomotive in UK cost less than $900.00 delivered. We also upgraded the school cam to a FC race cam. The car made its way to Australia at the end of the 2010 season replaced by a 2001 Mygale.

Thanks for all the feedback. I would most likely be participating at Lime Rock, the Glen, and possibly NJ and NH.

I will have to get more info on the regional requirements through Mo Hud SCCA, but with all the snow here, its hard to believe the racing season will ever come around.
