It is with a heavy heart that I pass on the info that we lost Bill Noble last night. The Vee icon, 5 time champion and good friend will be missed.

Very sorry to hear that.
It sucks to lose a hero...
Bill was more help to me in my first year of racing back in 1986 than he ever knew or could know. For someone of his stature to help and support me at 20 years old meant something.
Godspeed. Condolences to Lisa, daughter Jamie and the rest.

Damn! I've known Bill and family for a number of years. He will be sorely missed in the racing world in general and the FV community specifically. RIP Bill!

Condolences to Family and Friends
Thanks for the contrubutions and sacrifices made to the sport
A loss to the club, as well as his friends and family. I remember seeing him racing in the runoffs at Atlanta, many years ago. He was always the name that represented Formula Vee in my mind. Sorry to see him go. --jim
Sad day for the Vee folks. I enjoyed meeting and racing against some years back. Never could beat him though. My condolences to the family, he was a good man.
My condolences to family and friends.
One of the Greats.
Somebody better make sure there are orange valve covers on the casket.
As a naive-wide-eyed-15-year-old in the mid 1990s, I called Bill to inquire about some formula vee questions, as I was in pursuit of a FV to autocross when I turned 16.... He spent some time on a few phone calls with me, telling me what to look for and what not to...
I bought a car in TX (drove from Florida) a few weeks later, and autocrossed it for 2 years based on his advice of what to look for.... I wouldn't be racing if he steered me wrong or didn't help me out.
thanks, Bill!
regards and condolences,
Mike

I met Bill for the first time at the first runoffs I worked at RA in 1972. He was a real gentleman, firm but soft spoken. He will be missed. Long live his legend.

I was lucky, I got to talk with Bill for about 15 minutes at the Runoffs last year. He was pretty sharp but was tired. What a guy & we will all miss him. My prayers for Bill & his family.

Jaime and I want to thank you for your outpouring of support over the last weeks. Your care and concern for us and your remembrances of Bill have sustained us. Bill had over a hundred racers attend his service and I know many more of you were there with us in spirit. I believe we honored Bill in the best racer family tradition. His service was reflective of his life and contribution to SCCA and friends.
If you have stories or photos to share, please post them to the Bill Noble Memorial facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Bill-N...76426732399089
As for the future, Chief Mechanic Chris Cox and I will continue to build Noble FV engines and Noble Racing will continue as it has for the last few years under our management and direction - full speed ahead.
Chris, Jaime and I are looking forward to seeing you at the track where we can thank you in person.
