    Default Building Steering Racks

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am now officially building steering racks "IN HOUSE" 100%.

I've made steering racks just as one off several times but lately I've been getting more requests. So I have modeled a design that is modular and can also be used as a T-RACK for those times when foot clearance is needed (t-rack pics below).

I just purchase a Gear Hobb and all the involute cutters to machine bevels gear, splines, helical involutes, and racks.

These are pictures of some parts we just machined for a car builder. Sorry for the crappy pics....my digital camera was acting up. I'll post more pics. as we finish the assembly.

If anyone is in need of a new rack look no further....and my pricing is good.

The T-Rack offset can be made any length up to 300mm (12") C/L of rack to C/L of T input shaft. Anything past that we have to gun drill the stock for the extension.

The rack itself is 7/8" diameter and uses off the shelf bearings and bushings.

I can machine the ends of the rack for DALLARA, DAUPHINE, or whatever type ends you plan to use.

T-Racks start at $900 and up depending on end configurations and width.

You can contact me directly for more information gary@edgecnc.com
