2010 ARRC FF/FST Race Audio

Hi Racers,

(This is from Phil's wife.)

Thank you all for having a thrilling but safe race, the wives really appreciate everyone coming home with four wheels on the ground.

We recorded the audio that was broadcast over the PA system during the ARRC Saturday race (06Nov2010). It is absolutely thrilling to listen to, but it's ~29 MB so it can't be posted on ApexSpeed as far as I can tell.

The download is pretty slow. Does anyone have any better ideas or sites for large files?

PS I'd like to post the video his crew chief Mike Ray made, but it's >1.5GB. Watching them together tonight was WONDERFUL! It is much easier for the wives to understand what's going on when you guys explain it while the video is playing (but be ready for us to punch your arm really hard when you do scary things. Sorry about that bruise, Phil.)

Hey Sarah, thanks for the wife's point of view on these things. I had my wife watch my race from turn 4 with her car radio tuned to 96.7 so she could hear the play by play commentary & she enjoyed it much more than usual since the Rd Atlanta loud speakers are few & far between.

Unfortunately, the camera started to get covered with oil a couple of laps into the race. The last laps of the race are hard to see becuase of all the oil on the camera lens. I may try to post last lap or two if I decide that anything can be seen on the video.

Michael, the announcer audio is a great addition to your video. Was it easy to do? How did you obtain the recording?

PS Russ: There is a link to the audio in the first posting in this thread. You should be able to just click on it to download the audio file. I have no idea how Mike got it connected to the video, but I wish I did! Thanks again to Dave Miller (the sound guy at RA who hooked up my computer to record the audio).

I downloaded the audio track of the race announcers that Sarah recorded (from 1st post in this thread). I then used Microsoft Moviemaker to add that audio track to the on car video. It took a couple of tries to get the audio and video to synch up. I'll try to post more this evening.

If I wanted an audio of Race 7, I guess I'm out of luck, right? It sounds like the recording was done by Sarah live (as opposed to going somewhere now to get it).

I was crewing for Scott Woodruf (FormulaSuper). His wife and I enjoyed listening to Greg Creamer talking about him. I wish Scott had been able to (or could) hear it, too.
