Default Hoosier FST Rounds 5 & 6 at Road America

Road America is the next stop for the Hoosier Tire US Formula First Championship on July 24th & 25th. The host will be Milwaukee Region. This will be a fun event as it has been 2 years since the US FST series was at Road America. Many are looking forward to racing on the historic 4-mile track.

    The entry is up at:

    Online: www.motorsportreg.com/

    Snail Mail: http://www.cendiv-scca.org/03racing/...ket%20Post.pdf

Sound off if your planning to attend.

    LB,

In reading through the supps, it looks like no test day. However, that is most likely better for 2 reasons, 1) testing at RA will depleate your budget post haste and 2) RA is most likely the easiest track to learn in the USA with plenty of time between turns. As fast as you picked up Nelson, you'll be fine at Roach America.

I have it on good authority that J.R. will be joining us for the festivities as well

    Scott,

I know what your thinking, last race it was DW (Dave Weitzenhof) and now its JR. Well, it's not John Robinson II. It's Jim Roemer, the RE of Milwaukee Region who typically drives a VD FC.

I'm looking forward to you and Aaron join us for the RA weekend.

LB....not this time. I can't make it to Road America. I would love to go...especially considerring the entry list! But, we Steeb's usually try to make the race weekends a family affair, and my dad is in a pretty tight points battle at Waterford Hills (racing that same weekend). Plus, I am a little short on vacation days and hotel money. Long tow + extra nights + splitting up the family and crew + tight budget + racing that same weekend at WHRRI = no Road America for me.

Maybe I can make up for it, and run the ARRC instead.

Good luck to all who make Elkhart tho!

Baymont Inn and Suites 678 Walton Drive Plymouth, WI 53073 (920) 893-6781.

About six miles from the track. Certainly fits as a decent motel.

Check Plymoth Rock Camping Resort - literally 1/4 mile from RA - I believe they have tavel trailers and mobile homes that they rent out. Very nice place - my parents have been season for 39 years. I practically grew up there.

    Default Road America

Well I have decided to rent a second car for Road America that way my son and I will each have our own car for the entire weekend instead of sharing one car. This will be the first time that we have raced against each other. I hope he remembers who is paying the bills when he goes to pass me.

So add another car to the list.

    # 5 Doug Seim - Mysterian M5.1 - AutoWerks/P&NP - Okeana, OH
    # 9 Bill Bonow - Campbell Evolution - Plainfield, IL
    # 11 Aaron Deer – Campbell Evolution – RaceCarSupply.com – Elgin, IL

    # 26 Carl Middelegge - Campbell Evolution - TTS/Orbitalum - Lake Forest, IL
    # 35 Dave Blevins - Caracal C - Cincinnati, OH

Looks like it will be a good race for the FST cars.

I will most likely be there, either Flagging or working a rescue truck. This will most likely be my last race of the season. I am got accepted to ASU, so I am going to be in AZ in the fall....can't believe I will miss RunOffs!

    Make it a good race.

    Default Looks like a race!

Everyone that we thought would enter did and we've got (11) FST's coming to Road America! Looks like a pretty clean race group as well with only (2) FF's, (5) F5's and sadly, no FV's.

Here is the line up for rounds 5 & 6 of THE HOOSIER TIRE FORMULA FIRST CHAMPIONSHIP at Road America on July 24th & 25th hosted by Milwaukee Region SCCA

    # 5 Doug Seim - Mysterian M5.1 - AutoWerks/P&NP - Okeana, OH
    # 9 Bill Bonow - Campbell Evolution - Plainfield, IL
    # 11 Aaron Deer – Campbell Evolution – RaceCarSupply.com – Elgin, IL
    # 13 Robert Stack – Adams Aero – Hartland, WI
    # 25 Aaron Meyer - Campbell Evolution - Rocklin, CA
    # 26 Carl Middelegge - Campbell Evolution - TTS/Orbitalum - Lake Forest, IL
    # 35 Dave Blevins - Caracal C - Cincinnati, OH
    # 37 Robert Clark – Campbell Evolution – Rochester, MI
    # 41 Scott Meyer - Campbell Evolution - Rocklin, CA
    # 69 Jim Roemer – Campbell Evolution – Trailer Leasing, LLC- New Berlin, WI
    # 88 Dave Dawson - Campbell Evolution - South Bend, IN

Coming into this weekend, Bonow and Seim are tied for first place points. Should make for some good racing. Hope to see some fellow Apexspeeders at RA next weekend

I posted an invite on the FV board as cheap RA track time for Runoffs practice. The thread got 9 replies and 330 views, but no entries. I thought maybe they are going to the Kettle Moraine two weeks later, no FV entries there either.

It would be great to compair a good national caliber FV (car & driver) to FST. My bet is that they are not all that far apart (unlike what we see at the typical Regional). We had Bruce Livermore come to a series race at RA in '05 (?) and he was mixed in with the lead pack for half the race.
