    Default MRC 09 at BIR

Found a couple of photos of Jim Nash up at BIR for the Jack Pines Sprints Quad (7-4-10) and Jim posted this video. Jim was the only guy up there with an FST, but I think he diced around with Bruce Livermore in his FV.

    And his video link: http://vholdr.com/video/one-lap-bir-...first-july3-10

The Mission always looks and performs great. Jim should be very proud of his first attempt at building a race car from scratch, it's way better than some I've seen who have been building cars for years. I'm sure we will see more of them soon.

I need to get a link to the results as Jim has set the track record at BIR and want to record it in our log.

Thanks Bill for posting the pictures (I had not seen them.) and the good words about the car. More will come, it'll just take some time.

As for establishing a lap record, I can't seem to find my results sheet. Based on my data my best time was a 1:49.64 set in the second race on Sat. Bruce Livermore hounded me the entire race with me gaining in the faster section of the track and him reeling me in on the backside. It was frustrating!

Bruce did stop by to look at the car and gave me some good info on where he was gaining and what I should try. Unfortunately I broke early on Sunday and did not have a chance to put the advice to use. Bruce tried some things on his car and did manage to lower the FV record to a 1:49.021. I won't look so bad if he goes on to win the Runoffs this year. Go Bruce!

Naturally I think BIR would be a great track for a FST race next year! The lap record would certainly be up for grabs.

    Jim
