    Guys:

Only about a month until the Mid Ohio ‘Showcase’ National..already 6 guys entered (historically this race has drawn 6 tops since the Topeka move) with another 6 or so who are probable. Over $500 in contingency up for grabs if we can get to 12 cars.

Updated roll call & links are in post 1 above.

We are group 2 with race complete by 10:30a allowing for an earlier trip home for those coming from afar. We race with Vees & F500s at this event. There is both a $400 full day test day on Friday as well as $195 ‘Twilight’ test evening on Friday.

    Our sessions are:
    20 Minute Qualifying – Saturday 8:25-8:45a
25 Minute Qualifying—Saturday 12:45-1:10p*early enough to catch the Tribe at the Jake in Cleveland Sat night!
    Warmup—Sunday 8:20-8:35a
    19 Lap Race—Sunday 9:35-10:20a

There is also a restricted regional Group 8 that FF/CFF can run in for an additional $240 regional entry fee for additional 45 minutes of qualifying & 19 lap race (contingencies awarded for that National ONLY though).

Hope to see a full field at Mid Ohio--VIR had 14 cars this past weekend...surely we can duplicate that!

Good news, Formula Ford has the most entrants thus far of the Mid Ohio national. The bad news is that we're only up to 7 cars so far. I've updated the list above to reflect the registrar's site.

    Default Mid Ohio Showcase National

I registered today, but I have never been there. Anyone know a good way over the mountains from South Carolina in an RV towing a trailer? I don't relish brake fade in the rig any more than in the swift.

Does it say anywhere which layout will be used? Is it the club course I imagine?

Its been the club course in the past 3 years for this national. The supps show a track length of 2.4 miles; I believe the pro course is 2.25.

Two weeks until the test day and 10 cars entered, with an 11th promised (committed to with half a garage rental thus far...)

Only need 1 more car to get to our goal of 12. There may be more paper registrations that haven't been entered online yet (some already have) but if you know anyone on the fence lets get them to Mid Ohio. It will be a challenge to get many from CenDiv due to the Elkhart double that weekend but I think we should have a good turnout...FF still the most attended class (TIE) for this event currently.

11 days 'til the test day and we're at 11 cars registered plus a garage mate who has not yet registered who I know won't stiff me with the full rent...

    Updated list above.

Looking forward to getting out there and hopefully qualifying in front of the vees with my 105bhp.

Looks like we lost one for next weekend, probably battling in the same trenches I am. We're back down to 11 cars. If you know anyone on the fence, get them out or let me know and I'll see if any K Street or Chicago South Side influence can get them to come.

    Default Showcase Nationals

Sorry I won't make the Mid Ohio run. I broke a CV on the DB-1 and, although Doug at Fast Forward was super about getting me the parts, I'm not willing to hang my hide on something I threw together at the last minute. I am, unfortunately, mechanically challenged. I did want to suport the Showcase series, and plan to be at the June Sprints. Hopefully, there will be enough participation to continue this next year.
    Have fun / go fast.
    Jim

Default Contingency Prizes for Mid Ohio Showcase National

Here are the contingency winners for the Mid Ohio Showcase National:

    • Fast Lap of the Race - $150 from Williams Racing Developments - Wes Allen
    • Hard Charger Award - $150 from Taylor Race Engineering - Russell Ruedisueli (TIE-Wes, Russ & Mike all improved 2 positions from start, but tie breaker goes to the driver higher up the finishing order).
    • Pole Winner - $75 from Continental Motorsports - Mark Davison

We didn't have a quorum after qualifying to have the raffle, so I conducted it myself after the fact. I did not put my name in since no one trusts anyone from Chicago but it was observed by the Leisure Hound himself (though, I think he was napping...its what he does):

    Raffle winners:
    • $100 from Williams Racing Developments - Lewis Cooper, III
    • $50 from SR Racing - John Nesbitt
    • Two tickets to IRL race of winners choice (except Indy 500) from Honda Performance Development - Dan Pyanowski
    • $50 product or service certificate from Porter Racing - Mike Kolthoff

Thanks to all who came out. See you all in a month at the Sprints. Already 13 cars entered at Road America and 7 for the Glen Double.
