    Default Logitech G27for $150

Wow, if you were thinking about getting a sim wheel. This is the best mass produced wheel on the market right now for half off!

Buy if before they fix the typo!

    Default G27in best buy stores...

    hey guys..
as stated above, i went on-line the next day after keith's post and it said "sold out on-line"
so, today i stopped at the best buy store near work and they had one left. tag on the shelf said $149.00.. i snatched it and went to the counter. he swiped it and said 299. to make a long story short - i got it for $149. can't wait to try it and see what i think. i will post how it turns out here.

i have been having a LOT of issues with my old driving force pro. i get it close and then it changes on me, no ryhmm or reason. which brings me to a question. a guy i know who does a lot of gaming on-line says to turn of my norton antivirus and firewall when i am going to race on-line. is this a good idea? does anyone else do this???
well, gotta go play with my G27

Before turning on rFactor, I shut EVERYTHING else off that is running in the background, that I don't need to race. EVERYTHING! That includes any virus software, print apps, firewalls... leave nothing on that isn't absolutely necessary.

    Default thanks Doug..

i will turn them off from now on...

my thoughts so far on the G27.
it is better constructed. wheel is a little bigger. pedal base is bigger, spent most of my time tonight adapting my wood base to accommodate pedal assembly. i deleted all my old logitech software before starting. i loaded disc and new software, only trouble was it took a couple of tries of taking USB plug in and out to get the logitech software to recognize wheel. the little buttons that are on the wheel that i heard complaints about didn't bother me. they seem fine. i will have to spend time getting use to the new feel and all the settings have to be changed. i was able to run a 1:22 flat so, i will have to adjust to my feel. biggest problem i had was wheel would not stay the same from one day to another in the past, so i will see if the G27 cures that.
biggest adjustment i had was brake pedal pressure! it will take me a while to get use to that. i set the clutch as my brake pedal cause it felt right to me. but the pedals are harder to press than the logitech force pro i had.
biggest plus - how dog gone quiet it is.
so there are my first thoughts, i will post new problems or pluses as i go.
might be a good idea for those of you that are switching to also post yours thoughts. might help someone down the road..

Anyone else get an order cancellation from Best Buy?

If so I have a solution.

Call them and insist that they give you a rain check. Ask for a supervisor if you have to. The rain check will be a case number. You will have to reorder by phone after they get stock.

New info guys. My son Colin gives me a lotta crap but he's one smart guy. He stopped at Best Buy today and noticed that they had a G27 in stock. He asked about it and asked them to price match with the online store. They did and he just showed up at my house with the wheel! I just called another store and they said OK to the price match also. They're putting one aside for me and guess who gets it!

How does that work when the Best Buy site shows it now being $299?

I dunno. The guy at the second store was aware of the 150 price before I brought it up. I just told him I'd ordered one and they'd cancelled it. I asked if he had one and he said he'd match online store price. I'd just take whatever paperwork I had to the store and say hey match this.

Ahhh. So this would be beneficial for those who have had order confirmations and whatnot from the deal. This wouldn't be for anyone trying to get in on the deal now and only those who have had their order cancelled on them.

They didn't really even ask for the rain check or order number... she just said she would do a price match since it was in stock. I think this would work for anyone.. just tell them that you ordered and were sent an email that stated your order was canceled.
