    Wanted To Buy tires

    Hi all.

First, here's a quick introduction. I've been racing FF's for ten years, but now I'm gearing up to tackle FV. I picked up a used car three weeks ago am in the process of prepping it for the upcoming season. This will be my first time ever driving a Vee. I'm as excited now as I was before my driver's school over ten years ago.

That being said, I'm looking for some take-offs to get the first few races done. I"ll be working on car reliability and setup, in addition to fine tuning the nut behind the wheel. Anybody have some tires laying around? Ideally, a set that was new last year (or newer)that has some life in them. Any runoff sets? Some $ available for the right set. Hoosier or Goodyear is fine with me.

    I'm in Milwaukee, WI.

Since he is in your neighborhood try http://www.jbracingtires.net/
He usually has a good selection of tires - especially Goodyears. I have used him when I have been low on cash and needed a descent set to make it through a few race weekends.

Yeah, I've bought tires from John for years with the ford. It's just a little more comforting knowing some history on the tires. So, if I don't find any, I'll give John a call. In the mean time, I'm still looking if anybody has any. Can pick up at Blackhawk Dbl National.

update: The chassis is torn down minus the dash, fuel cell, and a few odds and ends. I now know why the vees are only 75 lbs. less the fords. I could barely lift out the front beam with drums, and am dragging the gearbox/axles around on 2x4s. And, most of the hardware is 3/4" wrench. A big difference from aero tube a-arms, cv-joints, hex keys, and 5/16" wrenches.
