The finale for the 2009-10 Formula Car Challenge Winter Series was this past weekend's exclusive double header at Infineon Raceway. When the points were all tallied up the 2009-10 Winter Series champions were Jorge Goncalvez in PFM, and Derry O'Donovan in FM.

The 2009-10 Winter Series competition started with an exclusive race weekend on November 7th at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma. From there the series headed to Arizona to compete in a double header at Phoenix International Raceway on December 5th-6th.

“We were very pleased to be able to provide the opportunity for drivers and teams to prepare for the 2010 season with an organized winter championship,” explained series official Ben Hettema. This has always been a great place for drivers and teams to get started as they gear up for the upcoming season. Many teams including Team Apex, World Speed Motorsports, Richie Hearn Motorsports, Goshen Motorsports, Phenom Racing Group, and John Walko Racing have joined our usual west coast based racers in preparation for their up coming seasons.”

2010-11 Formula Mazda Winter Series details and schedule are expected to be announced later this year.
