Is anyone else getting ANY Road Atlanta track to work? I get booted with a mismatch every time, no matter what version I install. And the sky is an Escher painting, too.

The latest Beta for Road Atlanta should be used. You need to keep the "Road Atlanta" folder in the mix so your directory structure should be:

Locations\RoadAtlanta\Road_Atlanta2007\.....

I didn't have a chance to do a test lap install due to an angry wife and two screaming kids. I'll try to get on tonight to confirm I can connect.

I downloaded it over lunch and it crashes when I go to load it every time. Perhaps the BETA isn't quite kosher yet?

I got it to run, only with no sky and it won't allow log-on to the server.

I'm going to see if I can find a ZIP version of the RA that we ran last year—at least that one worked for everyone.

i was able to run a few laps today with no problems with the older version.

The old version shouldn't let you log onto the server, unless Keith installed the wrong track on the server.

I don't even have the old version. I always found it interesting wtih the rfcentral website that the track is linked to...it has a picture of the last turn of Laguna Seca.

Too much confusion here and on the rFc board. I'm downloading the BETA version and uploading it to the ApexSpeed sever for anyone to grab the correct version. Find the correct version HERE.

I'm not going to run online with the detail set on MAX, so does anyone have a link to the former SCN file that was on the now defunct race sim central?

To make sure you have the most recent version. Use the one that has the GDB file from October 2007.

Try it again, Don. The one that was on earlier was the older version that is still linked on rFactorCentral (the bottom link). The newer version is on the server now. The GDB file in the track folder has a date of October 2007.

Since I have the old track in the game, can I just load the new track and then will it overwrite the old one? Or do I need to delete the old track from the game and then add the new one?

Try it and see what happens. I typically like to delete the old track and then dump the new track in the folder, but overwriting the old track should work ok. If you have any issues, I'd delete and then copy it over though.

The problem is, the old track isn't available online anywhere anymore for some reason.

I love Road Atlanta in rFactor, but this is a mess. I think we're going to have to post all of the fixes here on ApexSpeed, otherwise, this isn't going to work.

I don't have any issue with the track. Is it zebra striped?

Yeah, the zebra striped sky is fixed by jacking up the detail levels on your settings, but that's not gonna fly for me for league racing. There is another fix, but the files needed are on sites currently not in existence anymore.

This needs to get worked out soon, or we need to postpone Road Atlanta until these things can get sorted out.

What's the file name of the old track? I probably have it somewhere.

Do any of you still have Road Atlanta from last year? Try copying the SCN folder into the new RoadAtlanta folder (rename the original one). I can't troubleshoot since I don't have the problem.

I found the file to fix the sky, and the fix works. I was just on the server, and the sky is fine.

Download THIS and install it in your Road Atlanta 2007 folder, writing over the old SCN file that is in there now.

Still having problems with the chat. Message center in settings is turned on. The only thing different that I've done is remove the old scn file and insert the one Keith posted and download the skins package.
Any suggestions?

Maybe you have the chat disabled when you are driving. or could have that window hidden. I forgot what number the chat window is.

Anyone else having problems logging onto the server? I tried to do some laps this evening and it said "game not found"
Started up rfactor, clicked on join, clicked on the blue + at top the link to the server showed up, clicked accept and the message "game not found came up.

Still no chat. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've tried clicking on the chat button while in the game. I've checked all of my settings still nothing.

Has chat worked before with other tracks? I've never head of an issue like no chat before. Chatting is overrated anyway.

Yep, it worked when I was running some laps at Mosport. I didn't get a chance to try it on the other 2.
I don't need to chat but, like last night when I was running and Cameron BLEW by me on the back straight he was able to suggest a little less wing
