Haven't been on the site in a while. Been doing some laptop upgrades this week so I'm getting caught up on Apexspeed reading while software is loading....

You folks are doing great at getting car info out of the woodwork.
I have entered 201 into the registry.
As i wrote earlier, I'm not publishing email addresses, nor phone numbers, unless you write to me and say it's OK.
This is the Readers Digest condensed version. I have a lot more columns in the main registry. Things like Runons participation, pro series participation, etc. DaveW takes up a whole page.
See post 95 for list.

I haven't tried to do any statistics yet, but out of about 175 cars i've found active in SCCA, 63 are Zetecs. When you look only at national racing and Runons participation, it swings heavily to Zetecs.
The all important Runons results swings in favor of Pintos.
Could be a clue of what FF will look like 5 years forward? Or, it could be that FC has always had a pro series (or two) at the top of it's rung.
Did anyone run a Pinto in the F2000 series this year? I can't remember seeing one. Hard to beat the cost per mile of a Zetec!
The support by HPD is pretty impressive. I think the number of Fit engined cars will be strongly influenced by new cars coming in, since I don't think anyone would build a FF with a Kent engine now, and I'm guessing some of the new chassis will only accept Fit engines. It would be great to see a resurgence of FF!Could be a clue of what FF will look like 5 years forward? Or, it could be that FC has always had a pro series (or two) at the top of it's rung.

Bump, sort of...
The "list" has seemed to stop growing about 205. (which is about what i expected)
I'll sit down soon and do some more accurate numbers. Basically there are only about 160 cars that have registered that in any way shape or form race in SCCA events.
If there is any good that comes out of this labor of love, it will be to objectively say that the population that is affected by decisions of the CRB or BOD is far fewer that conventional wisdom has stated in the past.
The point being that if there are only 160 active cars, then 40 letters to the CRB represents a much more statistically strong voice than if there were 1,000 active cars.
Hmmm, 160 cars generated 378 national entry's in 2009? That means on average the drivers ran 2.36 national events. Sounds like most drivers just did the nationals in their region. Also sounds like a lot of runs just to keep national licenses current.
ANY CLUE what the total number of FC entry's were in regionals?
There's gotta be way more then 205 FC's in the U.S.A.
CREW for Jeff 89 Reynard or Flag & Comm.
I was looking for buudrow's post where he laid out the production runs of van diemens. There's probably a reynard registry with similar data, and for swifts. The rest - crossles, tigas, citations, pipers, brds, carbirs, are probably only 50 or so combined.
I guess I can chime in now. I sold my 89 Van Diemen in the fall and am about to go and get the FC that I have purched. So here is the info on the car I am about to own and run. The car will be coming to the Northeast from Denver.

As a prior owner of a 84 Reynard, they have a Great Registry.
Frog - Great Idea for the FC Registry of Active drivers to get input to the SCCA on issues relating to the Class. You are right waiting for Fasttrack is too late. I made a suggestion to SCCA to make all the Official net changes to the GCR on Fastrack and keep a running tab like they do in the Annual GCR book.
Have not heard back from them, but that would be a great way to keep track without having to read the complete 20 plus pages of the Fastrack changes every month. Just go to the last edition of the .pdf online version of the GCR and look for the vertical bars in the margin for the FC class and you would save a lot of time.

I thought I'd post an updated list. We are up to about 245. Seems that about 43 are not racing in SCCA. I've had a lot of updates from the NE the past week or so.
172 Pintos, 73 Zetecs so far.
As before, i'm not posting email addresses, nor phone numbers.
See if you are on the list, and if I have it correct.
