    Default Sean Maisey Injured

My good friend and friend to many here, Sean Maisey, was badly injured in a motorcycle crash this past Sunday afternoon. He is currently in the ICU at the Medical College of Virginia, in Richmond. I don't feel it is appropriate for me to disclose specific injuries in a public forum (I wasn't sure whether to post at all, but many of you know him, and as an active FB and ApexSpeed participant I think Sean would like for you to be aware) but at present he is expected to be in the ICU for another couple of days.

His dad just updated after a visit tday that Sean is improving greatly, is talking, and will probably leave the ICU by tomorrow.

Please keep Sean and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

    Best regards,
    Eric

I´ve been away from the internet for the last three or four days, and am saddened from this news. I´ve known Sean and his dad for almost ten years, and you can´t find a better couple of guys at the track. In fact, it was Sean and his car that got me seriously interested in F-1000 at the ARRC two years ago.

Anyways, wishing Sean a speedy recovery.

    Default Good News

    Hi Everyone,
Sorry to not post on this in a while, but as Bill Maisey posted, things have been good and bad for Sean through the last week. However, since Saturday, things seem to have been on a steady upswing. I just got off the phone with his wife, and since it's obvious that so many here care about him, I thought I'd give bit of an update.

Today he was able to eat solid "food" (it IS a hospital, you know) for the first time in a week, and they say he is too well to stay in ICU any more. He had been scheduled for surgery to put his right arm back together today - there's more than a few breaks there - since he's stable enough to try that again.

In a situation that is very familiar to most of us here, they had to scrub the surgery since the machine shop didn't have the parts ready yet! No hard date yet, but it sounds like as soon as the little brown truck brings the necessary parts, they will get it done. Where's Brad Baytos when you need him? (Ok, he was there for Sean and me at the Sprints.)

I thought a little levity was called for after Marsha told me the good news, but it is still a serious situation, and he's not out of the woods yet. As she said, she is just taking it one day at a time. I'm not an organized religion guy myself, but I am still praying for him, and I have no doubt that with this community's support he will prevail.

    Best regards,
    Eric

Eric, I am an organized religion guy and will also pray for Sean and his family. I figure we can hit this from both sides, and a good outcome will prevail.

    God speed,
