    Default Injury report

John Brumder was injuried during the Regional. Does anyone know his condition? It is good to hear that David Livingston's injuries are minor. Was another driver injuried earlier in the event?

    Chris,
Any idea why the driver that needed to be extricated had to sit in his car for so long before the medical crew attended to him? It seemed like 5-10 minutes and they were just sitting on the T5-13 access road looking at him.

This season seems to have had the most serious injuries and frequency of injuries that I have ever seen especially in the CenDiv. I've only been racing since 2000, but this is really alarming nonetheless.

Trak, Thanks for working the event, I think the person you are asking about is David Livingston. IFRC, it was reported that he only suffered a puncture wound and not a broken leg, but from what I understand, they had to cut the car??? I hope not as David and his father are good people that have worked really hard to get the SE-3 going strong.

When we cut a car, we always try to make it so it can be fixed with shim or a new part. Cendiv rescue and F&C not think about your safety but all the effort time and money that has been put into the cars.

    Chris,

thanks for the great worker efforts! Hot pulls and good animated flagging when matters are getting tense are so much better than caution laps. My opinion is that the RA crew did a FANTASTIC job all weekend. You guys should be proud of your work.

The driver I asked about was hurt in Turn 1 early in the regional race. he rolled after contact with another car and one of them contacted my rear tire, just enough to send me into the gravel trap as well. Car numbers were 34, 36 (me) and the 138 white crossle that rolled. The Crossle was on its side and John was struggling to extract himself. He was trying to get his legs clear of the steering wheel which was still on the hub. All the while I thought it was Todd Bardwell's car as he was Crossle #135 also white. The workers got there right as he got free and put him on a back board. i felt bad for him as his helmet visor had let gravel into the helmet and I am sure he wanted that hat off ASAP to be able to breath better. The safety folks of course wanted the helmet on until it was certain that his neck was OK.
