Default Photos: Vintage: 1970 Titan mk6B

I was lucky enough to happen along on the group shots when the Titans were gathered. I wish I had time in my day to have gotten shots of some of the other cars in attendance like this.

Taking shots of cars as perfect as those are like taking a few shots of Shania Twain, you just can't screw them up! Very nice!

You are da MAN!!!! Received. I gave you a link back on my website www.essesmotorsports.com

I should also give a big public thank you to Doug Esterbrook from Loynings for doing the restoration and supporting me this weekend. He is the guy to see if you want a vintage FF restored.

Small correction: That exquisite Titan Mk 6B actually belongs to Mayer Racing; Michael Argetsinger was thrilled to drive the car in the vintage FF class at the 40th Anniversary.

    Default Good eyes!

Good catch on the stressed panel! It's a beautiful car, and the rivet lines look incredibly straight and well-spaced. I don't know what Monoposto says about stressed skin, but the car is certainly beautiful!

If it's the car I saw a couple of years ago, the rivits are decoration. Legal, and not attached to anything structural.

    Default that's good news, Roland!

I'd hate to think that such a beautiful car wasn't legal. BTW, I bought a Titan Mk 6B in February. It had been raced hard before being stabled around 8 years ago. I'm just about ready to start building it up, as I had to take it down to the bare chassis and replace quite a few pieces of its previous history. Early on I had hoped to make the 40th, but it just wasn't realistic.

    Default 1970 Titan Mk6B

If the car year is truely a 1970, it would have to be a Mk6 (or A if you like) at best. My car and the one Jim Harrell (sp) drove in 1971, were Mk6's. The wide, and separate nose C model, showed up in 1973.

    Default Titan Mk 6B

I have a '72 6B. It has the separate nose, and not a one-piece upper cockpit section. I also have a C nose with it.

    Default 1970 Titan

    Larry,
Every time I had to wrestle with the one piece Mk6 body, I really wish I had the B version.
