After two great rounds at Road Atlanta and Virginia International Raceway, The CarTech Challenge storms into the 2.4 mile Mid Ohio Sports Car Course this weekend. The weekend is set to be exciting with Guy Pipitone hosting his fellow competitors this weekend.
Franklin Futrelle has taken the checkered flag first at the opening two rounds but the intense battles have been seen throughout the field and this weekend should be no different. Jeremy Grenier of Ski Motorsports comes into the weekend as the only other competitor to step on the podium twice this season. As the series heads north expect the challenge to continue to rise as these competitors are entering the home territory of the northern based competitors.
Look for Juan Marchand, Guy Pipitone and Lake Effect Motorsports' Jason Vinkemulder to have strong runs as well as The Speed Connection cars of Dale Swope, Franklin Futrelle and Bruce Lawrence who has seen the top 5 twice already. Steve Jenks, Victor Seaber, Dale Vandenbush, and Curt Harrelson have been fast so far and are also likely to be amongst the front in Ohio.
A few competitors have elected to skip the Ohio round in order to gear up for the Road America round which is set to be held in conjunction with the June Sprints. Look for the return of Court Dowis, Joe Garner and Sam Lockwood's Raceworks team at Road America.
