What brand of chain and size are you using on your F1000?
I have used the following in the past....
Tsubaki Sigma 530 High Performance O-Ring chain.....
Is any body using something different.
I want to secure/buy the best available.

The same Tsubaki chain. No issues so far, and it has been abused. I think the life is 4-5 races as posted else where. But this is heavily dependant on alignment, lubing, and heat...

I know I've seen them for other applications, but does anyone know where I can get a half link (rivit style) for the 530 chain ? I'm currently using the RK GB530GXW chain.
TIA............Gary
Couldn't get it through my normal RK chain supplier. They said it wasn't listed in their price sheet.
Was wondering if anyone else has used them to assist with the chain length issue....and where they might have found them.
Half links are notoriously weak and prone to failure. This is partly due to the jog in the side plates, transitioning from inner plates to outer plates. Because of the jog the side plates see much higher stress. When I was in FSAE we tried to use a half link, and it did not even make it 1 auto cross run. We reworked the car to allow for the use of a conventional riveted link.
If you have to use a half link, find the best quality one you can! I would try to avoid them all together.
Good luck and have fun.
It was on a Puch Moped though...
Gary - Just Say No to half links, cause when it breaks, your tach will do this , possibly resulting in engine damage at best, or you might even suffer the fate of having a lock up.

That's good feedback on the strength issue. I wouldn't have figured they would be weaker, but I can see the point. I guess I'll try and make the standard links work.
