    Default [SOLD] 1984 Swift DB1 #048-84 Roller

Get ready for the 40th! This car has been a June Sprints and RunOffs competitor its entire life. Many people here already know its history, and its short time with me, so I'll spare the hyperbole.

In over my head with this car and this class, so I need to make room to do something more reasonable for me, so this must go soon. Selling as a roller only—shipping at the responsibility of the buyer.

    • All AN hardware
    • Nickel plated Pat Prince updated suspension (w/anti-intrusion front)
    • Fox shocks with Stimola/Penske internals
    • 10/31 RP w/aluminum diff
    • WRD MicroBlue & REM'd gearbox (Blackhawk gears)
    • 2 sets of Panasport gold wheels (on roller, plus second set)
    • HiTech steel header
    • Lightened CVs
    • Protech hubs
    • Gun-drilled axles
    • Lightened TDI rotors
    • Pennon bead seat
    • Custom brass radiator
    • 2 spare noses—one new Pennon
    • Spare front upright
    • Spare Prince nickel plated front and rear upper and lower arms and other miscellaneous spares (axles, CVs, starter, etc.)

Does not include DB1 oil pan with roller. Rear body mount tab in need of re-braze. Needs rain light, too.

    Take it home for $9,995.

Contact me here using PM or via AIM/Yahoo Messenger: upon3. More photos also here. Car is together and ready to go today.

Belts are black Schroth cam-lock, good through 2012. Has the DB1 Protech HANS modification mount for the belts, too.

Another trick feature of this car is that the bellhousing has been professionally modified to allow adjustable rear roll center by altering the height of the lower-inner arm mounts. Very cool feature on a DB1.

A few more photos sans skin...

Price lowered to a priced-to-sell $10,500. I have information now, too, that Kevin Berry has a very solid Ivey regional engine ready to go in this car, as well. Be up and running in this car in the next couple of weeks for a very reasonable price for a very fast car.

Please, someone come an get this car out of my garage so I don't have to be constantly reminded of what I can't do right now...

    Default Ivey Motor

Yes I have a like new regional Ivey Motor with one test day on it. I would sell this motor to go into Doug's car . Price would range from $ 2500 to $ 3500 depending on how many engine parts you need ie carb, oil and water pump, starter, flywheel, clutch KB

    Doug,

I feel your pain. Absolutely beautiful looking car, can't believe it hasn't sold yet. If I didn't already have too many toys, and not enough time (and extra money) to play with them all, I'd snatch this car up in a heartbeat!

    Good Luck, Dave

The only model FF that has a HRD honda kit designed specifically for it. This makes it more valuable, right?

Hell, it might not only make it more valuable, but it might make it not for sale.

Anxious to see the HPD DB1 at the 40th this weekend. I bet I won't be the only one.

I think you need to man up and just keep the damn car and drop that Honda engine in. Get the kit and I will come down to Chicago and help you put it together.

Are you sure you want Stecher to come help you, Doug? He's got wings and stuff falling off his car. . I'd help, but I don't work on race cars (beating John to the punch).

Excellent Keith....excellent. I just figured that if you characters bring two cars to the track I have a chance of at least seeing one of you actually finish a race. :P

Thanks for the great weekend again guys...racing wouldn't be nearly as fun without ya...even when I'm spooning my car mid afternoon.

In your original post, you stated that the car needed a rain light... Are you interested in selling the rain light that you don't have that wasn't sold 4 years ago when you sold this car that you still don't have?

Let me know if you're willing to part with a set of the Panasport wheels. (sorry, I just wanted to get in on this)

Still not the record for the oldest Classified brought back from the dead. I think we had one almost 12 years old bumped last year.

So what you are saying is the car is for sale again?

How many miles are on it? Does the AC work, and what does it get for mileage? Can I put a small block Chevy in it?

Do the knobs come with the roller and are they still available? I didn't see anywhere that they were sold 4 years ago.

I'm certain that AC was a dealer intalled option. Not factory. The factory sound systems were junk. Kept eating cassette tapes or were they 8 tracks ? Worth more if it has the factory floor mats...

    Default It's a Honda, not a Chevy

Doug's very clean DB1 went to Glen Tomlinson in southern Oklahoma. He did one of the earliest Honda conversions. Attached is a photo of big Dan Layton squeezed into my Kent-powered DB1 leading Glen at HPT 5/2/10. Dan won. He drove my car to get points while waiting for his Quantum Van Diemen RF98 Honda to be completed. The RF98 subsequently was driven by Wyatt Gooden and Roberto Lorena in the F1600 Series.

I'm pretty sure Glen has since sold the car in order to focus more on SRF. I think the car did go to Florida, if I'm not mistaken. It does have a Honda kit in the back of it.

Yes, Glen sold the car to someone in Florida a couple years ago. Honda, for sure.
