Can you tell me what the current rules are regarding eligibility of a FF for vintage? Someone has asked about an 84 Van Diemen RF84 being vintage eligible.
Thanks
Joe

Hey Joe, Here's a couple links to Vintage FF rules.

Some clubs are creating local rules that vary from this, to accomodate local racers, but the general guideline is that vintage fford is 1972 and earlier per the Monoposto guidelines. Monosposto's guide for later cars is 1970's cars that are club-ford eligible, external spring suspension one end. So there is no widely accepted eligibility for cars made in the 1980's or newer, or for cars with push-rod/rocker suspension both ends. So the RF-84 is generally not acceptable for vintage racing.
Bottom line is call the clubs that you are thinking you would like to race with and ask them what their rules are. There is no national or even regional overall regulation of vintage racing, every club has it's own vision of what the right way to do it is!
