    Default Chrome Vs Nickel plating

I have an early FF that needs all the suspension replated and I was wondering what’s better. I see a lot of cars from that time have Nickel and later cars have one or the other. Is this a cost or period perfect thing or just what one likes? Oh with is harder?
    Thanks again.

for all practical purposes, they are the same hardness, but nickel is more durable. Chrome has a micro-cracked surface and eventually water gets under it and bubbles it off. Nickel can also be welded through.

Be sure to specify aircraft nickel plating and get a hydrogen embrittlement bake-out.

    electroless nickel.

Durable, can be welded through, no hydrogen embrittlement assosciated with chrome and make sure to tell the plater if the parts are brazed or silicpon bronze welded.

I second it, although I have Kephos on mine.
