FREE TEST DAY

To any/all Formula car drivers, the BSFCS is having FREE practice on March 13, 2009. The circuit being used is the Summit Point Raceway. The day will split between formula racecars and the Woodbridge karting Club. Again, Any/all Formula cars are welcomed. If your formula car has been stored or recently reassembled this is a great way to sort it out plus if your license has expired the FRCCA will be there to "Observe" & reinstate your competition status.

Is there a detailed schedule for the day posted anywhere? Trying to figure out travel.

There is not a schedule because of it being a FREE test day, we are never sure of the turnout. The choice here is not to have a big speed difference therefore the schedule is set day of the event. Safety first.

What is the weather like there? I lived in DC for a while and recall March being hit or miss... Not sure what it was 2hrs west of there.... ?

I'd hate to do a 7-8 hour tow for 40 degree wet... But, a free track day in mid-March when the next one near me is end of April looks like a possibility.

Mike; regardless of the weather you may want to attend as Bob Lima has 2 1975 Hawkes & he plans on being at the FREE test day. Bob Has molds and spare parts, could be a good contact for you. See you on March 13th.

Is it a full test day or only 1/2 a day?

I do not know the exact schedule BUT the first car on track will be at about 9:00 AM. Depending on attendance, just how many sessions and the rest of the schedule will be determined that day. No racing only tune and test, for all classes of Formula Racecars.

Is this test day being held on the main track?

FYI; There are three different race tracks here at Summit Point, WV. The shortest is the Jefferson track, the newest circuit is the Shenandoah track which has three very popular layouts and the original track which is known as the Summit Point Raceway. The free test day will be held on the Summit Point Raceway.

Has it been decided yet if the test is a 1/2 day or a full day yet or no?

GAR; The FREE test day is a full day with 20 minute sessions. there will be 4 sessions, Therefore, you will be able to get on-track every 60 minutes. But it will be a test day not a race day so it will have a more relaxed atmosphere.

Thanks Clyde, sadly I wont be able to make it now due to some parts still not getting into me yet, I had planned on this but I won't be able to sadly.

The free test day was great. A little cold but a good opportunity to shake down the car and the driver.

a decent turn-out of cars but there was room for many more.
