Default Instrument panel material and source?

I need to make a new instrument panel for my F500. The car currently has an plastic core sandwiched with an aluminum skin around 5/32" thick. I would like to go with something similar or carbon fiber sandwich. I found this, http://www.cstsales.com/carbon_sandwich_panel.html but I wanted to see if anybody else had some suggestions.
The final dash size is around 8" x 14".

    Thanks!

    Default Cosmetic Carbon Fiber

You can find 1/16" thick carbon fiber panels at McMaster-Carr. Just search for Carbon Fiber Sheets. These are really nice and make great dash panels, blanking plates, etc.

    Default Straight Aluminum

This may not be what you're looking for but if plain ole aluminum will do the trick, these guys sell small size pieces that will work great for making a new dash (inst. panel - sorry, I forgot the proper jargon!!!)

Haven't bought from them yet but they were helpful on the phone this past summer.
    Good luck, John

    Default

Ours is made from plexglass sourced from pierce-ohio.com. Goal is to have it pop out or break on impact with your knees.

Thx John, I bookmarked that link, always a challange finding good metal sources.
