    Default MSR Houston Reg/Nat Results

Once again, it was a really hot weekend here in South Houston. There were 2 Stohr FB's entered for both the Regional and National. On Saturday, The Motorsports Group Stohr with David Burkett driving qualified 2nd. The other Stohr with James Michael driving qualified 9th. In the race David wound up 1st overall and James ended up 4th overall. That locked up the Regional Championship for James .

Sunday was much the same with David qualifying 2nd behind Scott McQueen (FE) and James Qualifying 3rd. James had a header issue so did not start the race. David ended up taking the lead before turn 1 and never looked back. Scott made it a really great race to watch until about half way, where he got a little wide at the entry to 1. David won the overall and locked up the Southwest Division National Championship .

David never put a wheel wrong the entire weekend and for much of the season for that matter. Together we won 6 Nationals and 2 Regionals this year. We took the overall victory in 5 of those 8 events. Congratulations to David for the 2008 season.

Hopefully we will have several more FB's in the SOWDIV next year to help get the entries up to the Runoff's level. We look forward to seeing everyone back at the ARRC in a few months.

Congratulations David and Jeff. You guys drove a great season.

I had a lot of fun this year racing the Stohr F1000 and I hope the class will grow steadily in the years to come!
