    Default New personal website

    Fellow F1000 racers:

I have developed a new personal website. Please check it out and give any feedback, or suggestions. I can add info on F1000 races and events and hopefully the ARRC.

I did the website thru godaddy.com and found it easy to complete. The costs are very inexpensive. I really could not believe how low the costs were.

I was able to get a great domain name.

    www.formularacingltd.com

In the days ahead the website will show up on Google, MSN, Yahoo and about 200 other search engines.

Let me know your suggestions.... both positive or negative.

    Thanks

No wonder you have time and money to own a new FB car. You don't need expensive lawn mowers to have to mow the lawn twice a week.

Picking Jose for the award in '07 was a great choice. Met him at the Runoffs. Super guy. Has he got an FB yet? He was talking about a conversion.

My only comment would be under your Formula Ford - top speed 115 MPH, come on we go faster than that!

Looks nice Richard. If the FF goes faster, just take some of the speed off the FB and move it over... 170?

With a front wheel speed sensor using a tape measure to get the tire size right I have seen 131 in the front straight at Pocono in a Club Ford as recorded by an AIM dash. Engine is totally legal. It was in a good draft with other FF/CF cars on a cold day. Don't know of any errors in my systems calculation

    Russ,

    Wow! You're really pumping FB!

These aren't exact, but from numbers I've heard.....I'd say more like:

    FF 135
    FC 142
    FB 150

Obviously, a mis-calibrated wheel speed sensor will create some fun readings.

I remember reading somewhere that back in the 90s(?) somebody turned 162 in a FC at Daytona. Something about a super draft and all the right conditions. Maybe some old-timer can elaborate. Urban legend?

I know with a 10/31 and a 25/24 fourth gear, if you can turn 6900, it should be ~156mph.

A few years back, I was told that a radar gun had me at 137 at Cal Speedway. Maybe a click or two more if I had both engine side covers available and didn't brake so early to turn into the infield!

I've heard from a driver 142 at the bottom of the hill at Road Atlanta in a FF back in they days of the runoffs there and the FF competition at its peak of depth of the field. He had instrumentation back then, but it was rather primitive.

Frog, I dont have first-hand knowledge, but the story we heard when we bought our DB-6 from Larry Vatri was that in the old F2000 Pro Series in the late 90s he had an average lap speed in the 160s in the DB-6 that we bought from him. I think this was at Atlanta Speedway. This is supposed to be the highest FC lap speed ever. After that race the VD teams forced a rule change and he had to add a huge gurney flap to the rear wing to slow him down.

Thanks for the input on my website.

I have updated the top speeds for:

    FF
    FC
    FB

I will continue to make changes to the site as developments arise. I have recently completed the site, and thanks to all racers for the feedback.

    Default 141 in a FF

Back at the Runoffs in 1989 Paul White had me showing 141MPH in my DB1 at the dip on the back straight. That was before the chicane at RA...Paul was using his single channel TacTel "Black Box"...before all the fancy data collection we see now.

Forgot to mention..,Richard cool site. Need some in car video
