Update from Series Organizer Jeff Jorgenson:

Due to popular demand the Northwest leg of the F500 Constructors Series event has been changed from the Pacific Raceways double national to the Rose Cup Races on May 31st. The F500 Constructors Series endeavors to provide the best venues to showcase our class. After discussing the situation with other Northwest drivers it was felt that the Rose Cup would provide the best field and event for the Series.

Jeff Jorgenson, driving a NovaKar, won the F500 Constructors Series race at Portland International Raceway as part of the 48th Annual Rose Cup races. Lance Spiering in his KBS Mk7 was second with Sean McDonald, Red Devil T2001, taking the last payoff spot in third. Jorgenson swept from the outside into turn one for the overall lead from the second row and led the combined FF, F5, and FV field for the first ten laps. Sean McDonald also got a fast start and quickly snagged 2nd in F5 towing Jerry Lundgren into third place past second fast qualifier Spiering. Lundgren dropped out on lap 5 leaving McDonald and Spiering to fight a torrid duel for second. McDonald and Spiering swapped places numerous times. McDonald fought back from a spin to continue and pressure Spiering. A late race incident involving two Formula Vees brought out the pace car and put the race on the clock. The race ended under yellow, Jorgenson first, Spiering second, McDonald 3rd.

    Mid Ohio -
Perfect weather, a 15 car turnout, and a sweep of the top 4 spots for QRE. Bryan Golay took the win, followed by Mike Brent in second, and Tom Shaughnessy in third. The race was delayed nearly 2 hours because there was a serious incident on track near the end of the race preceding ours. We were in false grid, ready to go with about 5 laps left in the preceding race. That race was black flagged and since the incident was serious, the race officials decided to postpone our race until after lunch. I don't think there were any incidents during our race and only 2 F5's weren't running at the end. Tom Shaughnessy had fast lap of the race. Bryan Golay's margin of victory was 14.99 seconds.
32 drivers have now contested an F500 Constructor Series event. Bryan Golay's Mid-Ohio victory has vaulted him to the top of the standings.
