As Nicholas has pointed out I will be there in my Stohr, fresh from the factory on my inaugural run. Should be awesome!
Sean you are allowed to come, we actually really want you and ANY other FB driver/car there to race with?
Its a shorter drive for you to Thunderhill, than it is for us (from Vancouver BC) to get to Atlanta,...come out and play!!

    Cheers

Since so far this seems to be a Stohr FB race, what is the consensus about the front wing rule? Is everyone going to change to flat endplates, or all run the OEM endplates and agree to ignore the rule?

Default Hoping some Phoenix, piper, citation, vd conversions show..

But as for the endplates I am bring some flush endplates to bolt on just to not be disqaulified.

Wayne @ STOHR CARS is bringing some extra sets of flush glass end plates for any who feel they need a set.

    Should be a good race.

    See you all there.

My car is coming with the flush end plates,
I will protest Nicholas if he runs them original ones and beats me! hehehe,
I'm just kidding, I'm not that kind of guy. Come one, come all, bring whatever you got, lets get the car counts up quickly!

Kyle glad to hear you have the car and are ready to roll. Look forward to seeing you at the Sprints.

What the hell was the final decision on the end plates? I understood that Stohr was asking for a clarification and approval. Don't want to hijack the thread here just curious.

Default To be legal you must be complete with endplates 135cm or less.

so we have to run basically flush plates with small strakes if wanted. or a narrower plane wing with the pertruding strakes.

Back to entries.. who else is coming with an F1000.. Some other manufacturers must surely be making the tow to T-hill for such a big turn out event.

    Default GoPro will be there..!

Hi all...will be good to turn some laps with our fellow FB brethren! I'll be there from Thurs-Sat but Sunday is up in the air.

Hum dinger...I cannot wait to see how we all stack up. And how the tires last...I cannot get our 160 or 175 compounds to last on the rears for more than 8-9 laps full tilt so we'll be trying the 260 compound, too. I think it is 260...or 240? Well...harder than 175! :-)

Thumbs up on the good Stohr count and hope to see some other manufacturers out there for some good times.

    Hi5 all

    Hi5 all
    Nick,

The guys in FF started using a GY 430 compound last season trying to find a tire that would last better than the 160/175 compounds.

The first weekend they tried the 430's a new track record was set at Thunderhill by Chris Keller (his first time racing a Swift DB6 in FF).

Seems the 430 compound tires held up well on the abrasive surface at TH.

I am not sure if Goodyear makes the 430 compound in the sizes you guys run on the FB cars as GY even had to do a special run for the Ford guys for the fronts. 430's used to be a standard compound for FF and I used it with great success in year's past on hot days at TH and other venues (not so good at Laguna or Sears on a cold day).

Anyway, you might ask Steve Raymond if he can get you some 430's in the sizes you use, if he can you might give them a try (at least on the right side at TH), they will definitely hold up better than the 160/175's on hot days and on abrasive tracks. If it is cold (likely at TH in March), I think I would stay with the soft stuff or maybe just run a 430 on the right rear.

Anyway, good luck and don't forget to post the videos.

The latest Accuweather forecast now shows partially sunny through Saturday and just 1 hour of light rain Sunday. Can't tell yet if the rain is during the day or not.

Unfortunately, it looks like we are going to have to scratch this weekend, due to some issues not related to racing.

Damn, I was looking forward to seeing Don with some decent competition in FB for a change!

    Default Results

Phone results from Wayne in Thunderhill - Kyle Oberndorf qualified on pole and won the second race today. He set new records of 1:44.9 in Qual, and 1:45.4 in the race.
I think it was dry and cool most of the weekend.

If true, congratulations Kyle!!! Pretty damn impressive considering he basically just got the car and this was most likely his first race with it.

I took delivery of my turn key 2008 Stohr on March 8th.
With huge help from Doug and Wayne from Stohr, Archie Hodge and Douglas Brenner, Thursday thru Sunday, the car performed flawlessly.
I can not thank the guys at Stohr enough for the outstanding workmanship and build quality.
The car was a dream to drive out of the box and really, really fast.

ANYONE contemplating moving to FB would be silly to look at ANY other brand of car than STOHR! (just my $0.02)

The Stohr and the Thunderhill were AWESOME!

    Cheers
    Kyle
PS I ran Goodyear 160's and did not have any issues at all for the weekend, it was cool (below 75 all weekend).

    Default New Qualifying Record!

Kyle is to humble to blow his own horn about it but-He set a new ThunderHill FB Qualifying Record of 1:44.915 in the Sunday Qualifying session. Douglas Brenner of Brenner Shocks has always helped me and thanks for mentioning one of our best West Coast shock sources.
