    Default $200 tire pressure/temp monitor

Just saw this was released by Hella. Only problem is that it uses normal valve stems, but guess we could drill out the rim a bit perhaps. It has tell-tales for suddden loss of pressure and does presure and temp. Alas, no data logging and only does wireless for 32 feet.

    Default Tire monkeys?

If you wanted to try this on your race car you would have to mount your tires yourself. Most tire Monkeys would have these things broken off in no time.
If you combine this with the "Secret" F1 Refrigerant gas you can have a cool system!
What we need now is for some Racing Hacker to build a constant-full time display of all 4 tires in real time so the driver can monitor whats going on. That should not be to hard if you can breakdown the signals and build a display.
That would make it more Racer friendly and useful. As is I think it's aimed at trying to keep at average Mini Van Mom from rolling it up in a ball with the kids on board?

Might be great for our trailer tires.

Wasn't there more expensive system on Apex recently that did about the same thing as the Hella but for about 2x the cost? That's why i posted the Hella system, which also does temps and i think the more expensive system didn't do temps... but could be wrong.

For real time tire temps with logging, look in the Runoffs thread at P.F.'s photos. Car with small 'arms' out behind tires with infrared temp readers.

    Default Hawkshead

I bought one. It works but didn't find it much help on the race car. One more gauge to distract me. The low pressure warning range is too high for the race car, imo. But works great on the trailer and I am a satisfied user. Does temps, also.

Installation is easy - it just replaces the regular valve cap - no impact on tire balance (race car or trailer).

    Default More then 32 feet

Will work on the trailer if you tow with a truck but with the Motorhome the dashboard is over 32 feet from the trailer tires.
