    Default Admission?

Anybody know if I can just walk up and pay to get in or do I need to be on someone's crew?

I am coming back from Brazil on that day, through Atlanta and I may be able to get a stopover extended, but I want to make sure I can get in for 3-4 hours for looking, talking and viewing excitement before I try to change my ticket. I'll be totally fried, and probably smell like to the guy who hasn't showered in 4 months that I will be sitting next to for 10 hours on the flight up, but it may be worth it to see the morning qualification and have lunch at the track. I'd love to meet all-ya-all that have provided so much positive feedback over the past 18 months. Thanks to anybody that has some insight.

Ian, that would be great if you could work it out. Be forewarned, though. The track is at least 1 hour from the airport. If you're talking about Saturday, our race will be during late morning, before lunch (I forget exactly when).

Worst case, you can buy a ticket at the gate when you get there:

Default Group 4 field looses 1 FS

Good news for group 4, there will be one less FS in the field. Since the RT41 roll-bar does not meet current SCCA specifications, I can't get the car re-homologated in time for the event. If anyone knows of a FB that would be available, send me a PM.

Default New RT - 41 roll hoop

Jason maybe you should talk with Stan or Rennie Clayton. They have developed a new roll hoop for the Ralt. Here is a link to a discussion about it from the CSR/DSR site.

    Jeff,
I talked with Bill who built the bars for Arnie and Stan, he didn't have any in stock. The lead time for him to build one left me no time to complete the necessary paperwork. Thanks for the thought though.

Jason, that's disappointing and perplexing. Was the car perfectly legal in FA but not in FS? Or was the car never run in SCCA?

I wonder if Stan could unbolt theirs and get it to you in time.

I think you're at least second or third in line for the next available FB seat at the ARRC...

Russ, the car has a homologation certificate that was issued in 1995. Since that time the roll bar requirements have changed. In the attempt to apply for a FA/FS homologation (which would be required for the ARRC) I was told that the origional roll bar would have to be replaced. This is not new to the people who have rehomologated there RT41's to CSR's, it's a loophole that SCCA uses to bring up the safety standards of existing cars.

As far as using Stans rollbar, I'm not sure I have the time to process everything with Topeka and I feel a bit funny about asking.

I understand and I shouldn't speak for the Claytons. One of the reasons it popped into my head was because both Stan and Rennie always seem to go out of their way to be helpful.

I would hope that SCCA would be helpful in processing an admittedly unusual request, but I've found them great to work with. I can remember some ARRC issues in the past being resolved via phone during the event.

I wonder what the going rate would be for a roll bar weekend rental? :-).

My guess would be $3000.00, the same cost to replace it.

    Jim,
Even though the unrestricted zetec would run similar lap times with the FB, it would get eaten for lunch at the start.

I didn't know that Tonis was coaching next weekend.

Russ is right. I gave Jeremy Thoennes a call and explained my timeframe. He received my application last Wednesday and had the certificate in the mail to me on Thursday. Cost=$0.
Overnight it on Monday and have it overnighted back. You could have it by Wednesday. Piece of cake.

    Hi Guys,

I would like to thank Wayne and Doug of Stohr Cars for giving me the honor of driving their F1000. They have sacrificed their lives for this sport and it's guys like them that truly deserve the credit. It is also exciting to be able to compete with a group of such accomplished drivers in this race. You all have a lot to be proud of with your class. I look forward to meeting and racing with you all. Thanks again Wayne, you da man!!!

    Take Care,

    J.R. Osborne

P.S. Do any of you have any tips for qualifying with 90-100 cars on track!!!????
