    Default ARRC 2007 Roll Call

Here's a thread to find out who's in, and to give us an opportunity to plan for a special event. I know Rd Atl is a long haul for some people, so we may need to come up with some real incentives to draw as many FB cars as possible.

I wonder if we can stage a picture on the track during the weekend? Who knows, it could be a picture that people will look back on some day and say, "Kids, I was there that day!" :-).

I'm in with my RF-94 converted to Kawasaki ZX-10R power. I can't wait to see all the new and converted cars in person.

    Default Arrc

We're planning on having the Phoenix F1K.07 prototype there....more than likely sporting some production modifications.

If there is going to be an F1000 shindig....we're in for helping out.

That would be great if you could make it, Tom. We would do our best to make it worth your while.

I just looked at a map of the United States. Looks like you are about 5" from Atlanta and it is all down hill. :-).

I don't think I can make it next week, but that place is definitely on my try-to-race-there-before-I-die list.

I've debated attending that Mosport National in my RF99, but it's quite a hike right now. If I had the F1000, I'd be more likely to go.

Stohr Cars North America will be there. We will be announcing, within the next two weeks, a tow fee and prize for Stohr F1000 owners who will make the race. There will also be something for the class winner. The announcement will be made on www.Apexspeed.com as well as www.stohrcars.com so stay tuned.

    Default Count me in...

I'll be there for sure, and I hope I'll be in my Nova kitted RF99 VD. I've still got my fingers crossed for a July 07 avail date... (How 'bout it Jay?!!)

    On a semi-related note:
I was up at The June Sprints (20th to 11th and possible Hard Charger in FC) and was involved with the HUGELY successful Sportsracer party. At one point there were near 70 folks in attendance. We had a great time and I figure we might as well get started on our own F' thou version @ the ARRC. If Mike and Colleen Devins come down from MI, ya'll will be in for a treat as he is a grill meister extraordinaire. I'll bring 2 of my Big Green Egg's up, and make my famous Chicken Coop. The sooner we all start kickin' in, the betta it'll be.

I still hope to be ready with the home built car. With luck
it will be ready to test at Nashville in Sept. I thought there
was some kind of three race minimum to go to the ARRC.
If so, does running an IT car at three races qualify you for
    FB as well?

We are currently doing final assembly of Sean's kit. We are lining up all the suppliers & parts for production kits now. August will be possible but not July.

The three race minimum is for the SIC, not the ARRC. We only require that you have (at least) a full Regional license (no Novice licenses). Prior experience at Road Atlanta is a bonus.

Default Where can I get more specifics on the ARRC event.

There website looks so out of date showing primarily 2006 info with no FB class.

    I went to. http://www.arrc-online.com/

But if it shows correct. the info I found was

"2007 ARRC Start planning your vacations now! The date for the 2007 American Road Race of Champions is November 9-11."

Those dates look acceptable to me.. so count me in once I get more info and hear about the incentives. Who can help fill me in on more specifics primarily with teh ARRC event etc...

BTW.. any stohr owners running a f1000 interested in sharing a tow down to the event I have room for 3 more f1000's aside from mine.. I will be travelling from vancouver canada, through seattle / Oregan then east.

Sounds like the place to be for a manufacturer showdown. Plus it gives ample of time for people finishing conversions or there prototype new car builds for the year.

FB is definitely invited to the 2007 ARRC. Nov 9-11 are the dates (qualify on Friday, race on Saturday, start home on Sunday or stay and watch the FE race and a bunch of tin-tops run an Enduro). Test day on Thursday as well. Sean and Russ are also the "local organizers" of FB festivities and they have compromising pictures of me so I'm forced to give them whatever they want.

We'll be updating the ARRC website in the next couple of weeks as we start making concrete plans, plus I'll start a separate thread here since three different versions of FF (CF, CFX, FFX), CFC and FE will also be invited.

If you have specific questions, call or PM me (or wait until I start the generic "ARRC" thread).

We will be there with our Stohr F1000 available for rent as always. We will also have space in our trailer for another F1000 for anyone between Texas and Atlanta. Feel free to contact me about rental options for that weekend if you are interested.

    Default ARRC

    Nicholas,
Is there any chance of you sharing the tow with a non Stohr F1000.
I started construction of a homebuilt F1000 on May 1st so have quite a ways to go but should have a rolling chassis with engine installed in about three or four weeks.I am hoping to complete it by the end of August which according to my wife means October. But if I happen to finish in time I would be interested in going to the ARRC.

A homebuilt and a Stohr F1000 in the same trailer?! That would be like the Yankees and Red Sox sharing a team bus! Worse than kissing your sister!

John, I've been telling people that even if my car isn't finished, I'm still going to drag it to Road Atlanta. Maybe you can collect from the tow fund. :-).

    Russ

PS. I didn't mean to insult your sister, if you have one. Just a figure of speech.

    Default Ante Up!

Okay, everyone. Registration is up. There is a link to the DLB Racing registration web site at http://www.arrc-online.com/ (as well as a schedule, supps, etc.). Thus far (after 1-2 days), we've got three FB's registered. Let's build that list.

As you probably know, it's a good idea to pre-register even if you're not sure you can make it. I *think* they don't process the PayPal transaction until November, but I could be mistaken. I do know that it is very easy to withdraw if something comes up. Early registration improves your chance to get your desired car number.

I apologize if you start to get tired of hearing me say this, but the 2007 ARRC is going to be an AWESOME event. Everyone connected with F1000 should try hard to attend. We'll do our best to make sure everyone has a great time. For competitors with completed cars, we'll be competing for the first (semi?) official national championship for a class that will surely grow (Imagine what it would be like to say you were at the first ever Formula Ford or F2000 national championship race). Also, the sponsorship package for the F1000 race and the ARRC event in general is very impressive (and growing).

For those of you without running F1000 cars it will still be a fantastic time and we'd love to have you there. The weather in Atlanta in November is often great (but I'm hoping it rains because then I'll be a shoe in to win! -- It will be interesting to hear what Coop and others will have to say about that! :-).

Just to clarify from Russ' post:

Although we offer PayPal is a convience to the racers and we eat the processing charge(s), those transactions are done immediately. If you choose to send a check rather than using PayPal (I know, you have to address the envelope and stick on that stamp!), then the checks are not deposited until after the event.

I believe if you sign on to DLB you can see entries for any event (click on the "car" icon). You don't need to have signed up for the event. If you're just visiting DLB as a guest, no car icons appear.

It seems odd to me that the entry list for all 8 driver/cars is entirely made up of conversion cars, except the Radaclone, if it is a factory car of some sort.

It seems like a few factory cars could make this a 10-15 FB car field.

Just saw a black helicopter over the shop, moving real slow..

The factories have not registered yet because:

    a. They just haven't got around to it.
    b. For a "surprise attack", they are waiting until the last minute.
    c. If they don't enter, they can't lose.
    d. Damn, it's still two months away! You'd think this was the Runoffs or something.
    e. Ken has been busy lobbying in Florida, and Bill hasn't done it yet.
    f. Still taking full color pictures for the ARRC media guide.
    g. None of the above.

Got to go, helicopter appears to be getting closer. Where's my tinfoil hat?

    They're chicken! :-).

Actually, I'm sure all new F1000 cars in the southeast will be there, and hopefully from TX, the northeast and elsewhere. The hype and sponsorship is so impressive it doesn't make sense for anyone related to F1000 to miss this event.

    I didn’t notice the 2 months thing.
I knew I was stirring the pot a little, but I’m bored.
Still, the only people that are so excited about this race that the just couldn’t wait to sign up are people with converted FC’s. I just wish this race would be on TV, oh wait that’s the runoffs. There is always next year.

    Default ARRC Entry

For us....we're trying to finalize driver details. At this point I have come to the realization that in order for us to have a chance at winning the race....and that would be the goal....I will need to step out of the seat. More later.

    For others....let me guess....Answer "B", surprise attack.....consisting of:
    1. An updated car built specifically for RA.
    2. A top notch, multiple SCCA Runoffs Champion driver.
    I'm just guessing though....
