    Default Front crush box?

Do FMs incorporate a front crush box of any kind? Thanks! Stan

Tube frame under 'glass bodywork. Old-school stuff. Probably not good for another 100hp or going SPLAT on ovals, but does OK for it's current purpose.

Thanks Dale...I presume your refer to the front wing support in this photo?

I should have done a GIS before asking...

Default Too old for a crush zone

I don't know for sure, but since I like to speculate on history, I'd bet that 25 years ago when Todd and the original designers were drawing it all up with crayons, they thought "crush zone" was an advertising jingle for a soft drink .

Yeah, the battery box folds up if you so much as think about punting the nearest DSR. (A little SFR inside joke)

Sorry Stan, I meant the FM in general, but yes the front wing/battery area does soak up a lot of force, along with the nose/wing piece, in a hard front impact.

    Thanks Ted and Dale!

I have heard off-line that the FM nose/wing support has done very well in the school of hard knocks. Kudos to the FM guys...

Just didn't know what it looks like.

    Cheers! Stan
