    Default Good News, Bad News

I noticed in the new SportsCar magazine on page 72 they mentioned Sean O'Connell winning F1000 at the Road Atlanta National.

Unfortunately, they have a picture of a Stohr (#12) next to the caption.

At least they spelled his name right.

    Default compensation ride?

Maybe Sports Car could arrange a ride in a Stohr from (Craig & Bill) for Sean in an upcoming race as compensation for the error?

It would be neat to have Sean drive one and then be able to give us all a comparison report on both a factory car and a conversion car.

Then we would just have to convince Matt Conrad to let Sean drive a Phoenix for a three-way comparison.

The article could be published in Sports Car to promote new F1000 sales for Stohr, Phoenix and Novak conversion kits.

Good marketing for Stohr, Phoenix and Novak, good PR for Sports Car mag, and an unbiased report from an F1000 winning driver (Sean O'Connell).

It may have been an honest mistake or oversight, but I still think it would be neat to have a side-by-side-by side comparison with the constant being the driver.

Wow... is paranoia setting in big time? I didn't see any black helicopters in the picture... or were they photoshopped out?

I'm looking at the bright side. Copy editor has a good picture. It's actually from that weekend. She/He runs it. For us, it's good news, it's a formula car, and not a GT1 car, especially one with 82 on the side.

May be a case of a good PR person being on top of her/his game and "feeding" the press.

Maybe most photogs didn't have high enough speed cameras to actually catch Sean without blurring the image.

Besides which, if only winners get photos published, when would mine ever get in there?

OK, I'm putting my tinfoil helmet back on...

Now those are all fantastic ideas!!
