Default NovaRace to build conversion kits

For immediate release. March 27, 2007

NovaRace LLC announces Van Diemen F1000 conversion package.

Jay Novak, the designer & builder of the innovative and rocket fast NovaKar & Rakavon F500 cars announces the design & build of a “bolt on” F1000 complete conversion kit for Van Diemen Formula Continentals and Formula Fords.

“I am certain the F1000 will be an extremely important step in re-establishing the preeminence of amateur open wheel racing in the US. However, we need to create an opportunity for the many owners of Van Diemen racecars to switch to F1000 with a simple and low cost conversion kit. A lot of competitors want to go to F1000 but the cost of new cars will keep many competitors away from F1000. Our kit will provide a very low cost way to get into F1000. This is the opportunity that a lot of racers have been waiting for, a chance to get into F1000 for a very reasonable cost with a solid well designed conversion kit.”

As many of you are aware Jay Novak has been building simple & low cost Formula 500 racecars for over a decade. These F500 cars have developed into extremely effective, very low cost, racecars that turn the same lap times as the best Formula Fords.

In keeping with Jay’s design philosophy of elegant simplicity and low cost the NovaRace Cars Van Diemen conversion kit will allow for a complete bolt on conversion to F1000 with zero welding to the existing Van Diemen chassis. The kit will use all of the existing control arms and existing Van Diemen geometry. The long & short of it is that you will be able to convert your Van Diemen chassis to an F1000 chassis in a couple of weekends of work at the lowest cost possible.

In co-operation with Sean Maisey NovaRace has already been working on the design for a month and the design of the kit is nearly complete. NovaRace uses the SolidWorks 3D modeling package for all of our design and modeling work. Construction of the 1st kit began when the donor Van Diemen arrived at our shop in Brighton Michigan on March 7th.

The initial engine package will be using the popular Suzuki GSXR 1000 engine. Engine mounting kits will be available for both wet and dry sump. Other engine installation kits will be available as demand warrants.

Default What a difference a weekend makes...

Wow, this class has barely started and it has already had more momentum swings than a high school football game. First, it was the conversions that would fill the class. Then the manufacturers came in and the thought was they would lead. Now the conversions have shown excellent promise and now high quality kits are becoming available. Nothing like starting with a proven package.

This is going to be a hell of a lot of fun!!

No doubt Sean's success has helped the privateer market and that can't be bad.
