Well yes our race group is the largest at the moment, being group 2. If cars from different classes are fast enough to be racing together than so be it. AS long as they have some competition near by and are not interfering with the cars in the same group.

Maybe you are just trying to say the front FF's could be with the rear FE's and you dont want anyone messing up your race.

    JRII,
I think Matthew was refering to Group 3 being the most subscribed group, not FE being the most subscribed class.

And were you talking about the 18 or 19 year old in the 16 year old car or the 16 year old in the 15 year old car? And what about that really old guy in the 21 year old car?

Do you guys realize that we have more cars in our group than the "popular" SM group, even with SSB, SSC and T3 supporting them?!?!

Of the 18 cars currently listed, I'm sure the final results will show me ahead of at least 1 - assuming the the Ralt is a DNS in Group 3!! I should have joined the MidWDiv if I ever wanted to get any National Points!

Default Older FF Racers at TWS Double National

It looks like some older FF racers had a couple pretty good races at TWS last weekend, with Mike Sauce winning both days, and a racer of unknown age, Steven Hickham, Jr., setting fast lap on Sunday. How about a report, Mike?

Want me to bring my RP-31 for ya? It’s already red, and 24yrs young. I wont be using it that weekend. Garey should be able to outrun it. Heck, other people have had more fun with my cars at Rd Atl than I have, so why not continue the tradition?? Only thing, that crazy dude James (I aint gonna say it like John R II says it) will have to work some setup magic on it Friday for you.

    Default Directions from Jax

    Map is at http://www.roadatlanta.com/directions.lasso

. West on I-10 from Jacksonville
    . North on I-75
. Merge with I-85 in downtown Atlanta
. I-85 North out of Atlanta
    . Left at Exit #129 (GA 53)
. Road Atlanta is about 5 miles on your left

You may want to take I-285 around Atlanta rather than going through the middle of town, but traffic just about anytime in Atlanta in a crapshoot. Depending on when you're coming in, you could also hook up with the Purple Frog about Cordele or so and come in the back way through the thriving communities of Monticello, Social Circle and Winder.

I don't think I will be running the FC at Road Atlanta anymore. I am currently trying to find some drivers that would like some coaching this weekend. I am focusing on running Pro Mazda this year so we are focusing all the finances on that, plus I am trying to make some extra dough to help out. I realize it is last minute, but if anyone is interested for this event or any other races this year please contact me asap @ (954)-448-5120.

    - Track Record @ Road Atlanta in FC.
    - SEDIV FC National Champion.
    - FL region 2005 Rookie of the Year and 2006 National Driver of the Year.
    - Qualified 2nd for 2005 and 2006 Runoff's, and finished 2nd in 2006.
    - Ranked 5th in EFormulacarnews.com FF2000 best of 2006.
    - 2006 Cooper Tires Gold Cup Champion
    - Track records at Road Atlanta, Moroso, and Roebling Road.

OK, an update for anyone who cares (I'm guessing, nobody). After shoveling 3ft of snow from in front of the shop to get the new trailer in to load etc... Mother Nature has deposited another 2 ft in front of the door. No, I didn't get the trailer in yet, I was waiting for Saturday (today). Well how badly do I want to go to Atlanta?? Well, I'm grabbing the shovel now. See every one down there. If I don't cardiac out from all of the shoveling that is....

    Default FF is back?

Man this is a great thing, lots of drivers coming from far away to put on a what looks to be a BIG show!
Very impressive guys, I can't wait to see the race.

You know RA is a spectator race, and they give out cool trophy's too!

Steve according to a guy on the FC page it is 68 deg. up there??? We look forward to giving YALL a warm welcome down here!! Thanks for supporting this great event.

    Default 68?? Not here!

It got warm las week but no 68F. The highest I saw was 55F. That was wed. or Thurs. last week. But it was short lived as temps again went back into the 20's. Also, I'm up near Burlington. About an hour from Canada sooo....

This will be my first time driving at Road Atlanta so no cool trophies for me. I'm just lookiing for some good racing and some warm temps. And, Summit is usually wet and cold so I MAY skip it. We'll see.

I really am looking foreward to coming down and meeting the southern FF contingent.

at the back of the field!

    Steve,
I'm glad to hear that this will also be your first time. I'm hoping that you're not a quick learner and that we can have some good racing in the back.

Hint - if you're trying to learn the track, don't follow the white DB6 #4.....

Thanks for the info Gary. Some tracks I seem to get pretty quick, some tracks I can't ever seem to get right. We'll see how Road Atlanta goes. I think it is a tough track to learn but if I use my test day effectively I should be OK for the second qualifying session. We'll see!!

    Default Gears?

I don't have any previous notes, just Jake's book:
    18/34 21/31 23/28 25/26 10/31 Jake's book

    That sure sounds fast!

Was that book before they changed the track? When I was there a few years ago with my FC I ran a 24:26 top gear. I think Jake's gearing was before they added the chicane.

    Hope that helps

    Default gearing?

Does that mean the 1st, 2nd and 3rd are good but that 4th would now be too tall?

This is my first time so I hope that I'm not too far off. It's hard for a small-minded driver to tell much about gearing for a new track.

    Default Gearing Road Atlanta

I have not run the new configuration but in 1992 when I was on the pole of the Runoffs in FF(chicane year) I ran the following.
    18/33 21/31 23/29 24/26.I hope this helps.

    Default Geared up

Hey Garey..long time since I've talked to you...The gears sure sound fast (like a rabbit)
Sometimes alittle slower and smoother work real good
Anyways good luck and have fun there..Wish I was going too...

I've only heard a little after Qual session #1:

All three FB's are running fast and close to each other (around 1:26 - 1:27).

Rossella was on provisional FC pole.
