Mine is #5. I guess that means it is one of those on the back row. I can't wait! You're right, silver looks great, but mine will be black. Maybe people won't notice me.... Anyone want to share shipment from the northwest to Texas?
Ken
Mine is #2 and will be shipped to West Palm Beach, FL. Please contact me if you want to share costs.
Ken, does it make any sense to have ours shipped together, at least to Texas?

Stohr Cars is pleased to announce SCCA Homologation of our new F1000 was received today. Homologation papers are included with each car.
Lee,
Be-a-u-tiful car!!
Just wondering though... How expensive will the inevitable off course excursion be? From the front shot photo the under tray is very vulnerable and I can't tell from the side shot how it attaches to the main body section.
...too bad you won't take those '89 Reynards in trade.

the guys from stohr cars north america quoted me some prices on nose pieces at the PRI show in december last year. I had ask that same question upon viewing the car. I will let them chime in on the exact prices but I recall a nose being around $3000.00. Before I start to complain I will wait for the exact numbers from them. If these cars take off I will be interested to see if the "aftermarket" folks will build alternate and or replacement body parts. I have commented in another forum topic about the air intake scoop for the engine being so tall. That comment generated more irrelevant comments about digital image distortion than replies to the question. I have seen and sat in the Stohr car in person. As a former professional fiberglass fabricator I know the body parts I've seen would be easy to duplicate and modify if a person had a mind to. I know I would like to have a spare nose for the car I'm racing. I don't think I would like to have $3g's in it though?

Will-
The bodywork on this car is constructed of pre-preg glass... its so thin & light you have to see it to believe it. It really almost seems like plastic. I'm sure anyone could make regular glass replacements but to duplicate these I'm not sure. I'd also bet the $3,000 includes the wing and the nosebox which is a crushable safety type. If you look at the Pennon kits (about $2500) its not that far off.

Hey, Will, since you are a former professional fiberglass fabricator and the parts would be easy to duplicate, why would you be buying them at high prices when you could just make them yourself?

According to the preliminary price list the nose box, wing and end plates should be around $2300.

I went to look at the car a couple of weeks ago. The nose on this car is so sturdy that you can, and I did, pick the front of the car off of the ground by simply lifting on the nose of the car. Point being, I think it would be pretty tough. It is still expensive.
Here are the preliminary prices on the front components - all prepreg, oven-cured:
F-20-063 FIA-style crushable nose - $1190
F-20-062 Front wing - composite main element - $915
F-20-061L Front wing end plate - $153
F-20-061R Front wing end plate - $153
These are not the typical wet layup fiberglass pieces. You can stand on the nose and, as Mr. Stephens mentioned, can pick up the front of the car from the nose's leading edge. They're very sturdy pieces and the nose was designed to absorb energy during impact.

Man,I'd say those prices were very fair considering the materials and processes involved.

Based on the conversation I had with the guys at Pennon earlier today, This is very competitive. The Aero-Avant wing package is $1500, and that does not include the nosebox.

Will there be a secondary front wing flap option (ala Van Diemen) for high down force tracks or is the signal plane wing enough?
