Default WOW ... I personally saw this car !!!

Forget the pictures ... they DO NOT do this car justice. I last saw it at Sebring and well .. in a word it was PERFECT.

    The paint was soooo deep I felt I could drowned in it;
Everything, wires, brakes, cables, and I mean everything was tied down - located and affixed; I have been around FFs since 1977 here and Europe and it is the BEST I have ever seen.

If I had enough guts, (and wanting to stay married) I would buy it, drain the fluids and hang it from a wall in my home as modern art !

But don't misunderstand me, it is RACE READY and goes VERY VERY well.

I hope it does not leave Florida

    Default Restorations by Robert!

Bob's restoration projects are the bomb. I want this car so bad I can taste it. I get to drive the Royale S2 that he restored last year at CMP in February. I can't wait. This RP31 will be a killer CFF. Hugh would be proud.

this car is so clean, so beautiful, so well prepped.......that you could eat off of this car...and eye have. eye did it just so that i could say that eye did...and it was great fun at the track that day to say it - now i get to say it here.

it might have been just a sandwich....or maybe it was pistachios?

I was curious about the gold colored side panels on the front. Are they anodized aluminum?

    Congrats Adam!

I believe Steve Roux (Apex tag: "Roux") also has an RP-31 and he's right around the corner from you, relatively speaking. Steve's a great guy and would be a great resource.

See you at the fall school at Watkins Glen?

    Adam,

Congratulations on snagging the car. I will gladly help you (if I can) to get the car dialed in. Right now I am playing with getting the Dunlop setup sorted out. There is quite a lot fo understeer in these cars to deal with. I am hoping to get the car tuned at Montreal next weekend. If you are anywhere near the western end of CT look me up and we can chat. I do not have any Boston trips planned at this time. Maybe the double regional in July at NHIS.

There are some safety ideas to consider as well, like adding a crush box in the front, and molding a custom seat to fit you. I cannot tell from the pictures, but I think I see the stock fiberglass seat mounting plates and the stock seat in there.

All in good time. Otherwise it is a very clean car with a lot invested by the previous guys

    Default Up for sale Again

The Royale is up for sale. I have used it twice since I bought it three years ago, both practices. I just don't have the time to get out with two little kids at home (my avatar says it all). I hope to pick the sport up again in coming years when time allows. Price $13k. It's basically unchanged since last sale. I did one or two things to it since I have had it. I tightened up some slop in the shifter, adjusted the spacing between the gas pedal and the brake for wider feet, I split the lower (white) panels back by the engine bay. They are held in with racing captive quarter turn screws (looks nice). It was so difficult to get those lower panels off to get to the motor or radiator connections. Having them split and with quarter turns on them make the 15+ minute panel removal now about 20 seconds. I can send any detailed pictures that prospective buyer is interested in. I just need to give it a bath and a wax to have it look like the original pictures. The orignal ad didn't mention that it also has a third set of aluminum rims with Dunlop Treaded R60's on them.
Feel free to call my cell (978) 879 8617 or email abahret@ilrd.com
    Thanks,

Sorry for a pointless post, but I LOVE that car! If I wasn't neck deep into my RF78 I'd buy it. Actually.... I'm still thinking.....wife, hide the checkbook!

I only wish that I had a job right now. I'd buy my car back. I put a lot of time, effort, and $$$ into that car before you bought it from Ray Proulx. This was arguably one of the most comfortable, forgiving FF's that I've ever driven. To whomever buys it, please enjoy it and take good care of it.

Car arrived as described, very clean and nice. Haven't had much time to tinker with it yet, but the question for today is..."has anyone seen the homoligation papers?"
I know previous owners of this car lurk around apex, so I was hoping someone might have this taped to their wall or something....Any help would be appreciated.
I have to say, this is a pretty darn arrow car for club ford.

Not sure what papers you're looking for? If I remember correctly, homologation papers were not issued to FF's manufactured prior to 1983. Unless your car has never been issued a log book in the US prior to '83, papers are not required. Log book only.

    Don

p.s. While I hate to see another CF gone from northeast, hope you do well with it.

Default I don't think that car had any

    Cliff,

I have two of these both with logbooks and neither came with homologation papers

Good luck with putting it on the pole and winning abundantly!

plans are up in the air right now...more concerned about trying to make a living.
I remember when that car was for sale and thought how nice it looked and when it came up again I jumped on it. You have body molds for this model? Bodywork is very heavy, looks like it was never damaged or anything, just very heavy. I have no clue yet what to do with this thing....it does look sweet just sitting there.

Cliff, I got some original bodywork from Andy Greene back in the day and it was also very heavy. did not seem to make a difference as still had to add lead to make min. Now call Richard and get him to make the same upright mods he did for me, change the ackerman and it will help solve the push. These were notorious for the rear being kinda wishy-washy. I'll try and get the number of the guy who bought my old car and if he still has it, they made a cover for the transaxle the really cleans up the back of the car. maybe he will let you make a mold from it. That is unless it is just going to be a show piece in the lobby of your building...lol

Cliff, I owned this car 3 owners before you. The photo attached is what the car looked liked after I did a complete rebuild/restoration. To answer your question concerning the homolagation papers, the car did not have any when I purchased it. SCCA never asked for them nor required them. As for John's comment about the gearbox cover, I included a pristene one when I sold the car, including a spare chassis and nose mold. If I can help in any way, please feel free to call me. Contact me via PM and I'll give you my contact info.

Excellent Bob, I did not know you had one. I had never seen one on anyone elses car. Even had several old time FF guys ask if I made it beciause they never saw one before.

PS, Cliff emailed me saying it is the best conversation piece in his lobby...lol He said he really wanted to put a db-6 in there but it was to much like an old girlfriend kinda thing.

For Sale Again. This car rolled off the transporter and I pickled the engine and WD'd the suspension, unhooked the battery and put it in our office. Has not seen the race track since previous owner raced it. Read thru the above posts for all the spares and extra's. I know there is a complete frame and extra bodywork, extra block, lots of wheels and tires. Car is currently sitting on treaded Dunlops. I am sure the belts need updating. Someone needs to be racing this thing instead of it sitting here. $12,000
