Default Need some help w/ SCCA paperwork!

Hoping that some of you guys might have the connections to help with this...

I'm registered to go to Sebring and race my F1000 Jan 4-7th.

Problem is no homologation! I've written a dozen letters to the technical staff (and some replies like "we are working on it" but other letters get no response). I've sent in the homologation forms with a money order and pictures (printed out the FS forms as they did not have F1000 forms. Attached the rules from Fast-Track and said the car complies). I've called, and apparently no one on the technical staff is there.

We are supposed to roll out in 6 business days!

SCCA can't even tell me what letters are supposed to be on the rear wing (although I've ordered "F1").

The fact that I've got what must be 100's of hours invested in having a car ready for a National and the time invested in making F1000 a reality seems to be falling of deaf ears.

    Help!

    Sean,

Go to the top. While Steve Johnson was still at SCCA I once called him directly and he responded and helped me out with a problem. The trouble now is Christmas is nearly upon us.

Try Jim Julow. If he's not in, his executive assistant is Aimee Thoennes. 1-800-770-2055. From there if they are both out, work your way down from the top of the staff chart.

    Good luck,

    Jim

    Default F1000 Homologation

If you have all applicable homologation paperwork then send it to John Bauer or Jeremy Thoennes at SCCA in Topeka. If you do not get the homologation papers in time for the event, you can talk to the Chief Steward and he will let you run.You will not have any paperwork to prove your car is homologated but the only time this would come up is if someone protests you.Definately have a copy of the paperwork you submitted when you talk to the Chief steward. You might even call him ahead of time to let him know what you want to do.Good Luck

Carnut I would not turn-up at Sebring in the hope that they will let you run without anything.I would be shocked if that happened with those freindly folks. We have always in a pinch just gotten a 2 race waiver. This can be faxed from Topeka.Where are the original papers?

Oh, that is just too funny for words.

Sean, DON'T read Dave's response yet! I want to be there when you read it to see your expression.

Sean, if you have submitted your paperwork, John Bauer can overnight the certificate to your hotel, fax a copy to the Chief Steward, etc...even confirm by phone, just as is done with licenses. Not to worry. Go make history as the first F1000 competitor. You've earned it!

Sean, your favorite Uncle has retired as Executive Steward for SEDIV (the Exec heads up the Steward program in each division), but he will still be attending many of our events as a Race Steward.

Good luck and be careful in sunny Florida - those events have a history of carnage in ALL groups.

This is what I have pictured in my mind:

Sean doing his best Jerry Seinfield impression, saying, "Newman", except with "Schmucker" instead. :-).

    Default Dude!

I just saw this thread! It's surreal yet funny (except for you) at the same time.
