The BRDC held the 6th Walter Hayes Trophy (WHT) at Siverstone on Nov 3, 4, and 5. An amazingly succesful event for FF1600 cars. WHT had 154 entries with Cars from 1968 to 2006 racing together on the track. All ran on treaded spec tires, steel bodied dampers, and no talk of a new engine. You can look at results and times for practice, heats, semi's and finals. Here is the url:

If you take a look at this website, you can see there are 4 regional FF1600 championships in the UK. Plus, historic (pre 1971 chassis) and classic (1972-1981 chassis). FF1600 is experiencing a strong revival in the UK. People are converting Zetec cars back to Kents.
The Brits have plenty alternative formulas just like we do. Yet, club racers are running back to FF1600 because it still represents good value for the money and excellent competition. Food for thought for North American FF1600 racers? I think so.
