Talked to Poodles today, freezing in England (surprise). He and Dane drove today in mostly damp conditions. Robert says the car is fast as hell in the straights, 300 hp and 50 push to pass, but the handling isn't the greatest in the world. Good thing he is used to cars that plow a little bit since driving VD's the last 2 years. All in all, the guys are having a great time. I'll post some updates when I get more news.

The Cooper Series with it's global reach can confirm that both "Cambo"and "Poodles will on friday sample this years Spirit /Duratec chassis at Snetterhatch in the morning.Steve Wills is an ex Van Diemen factory man and the president of Spirit racing cars. For US Van Diemen owners's there is a good chance that Steve's fingerprints are on your chassis,as he has probably built over 200 of the chassis that are here. This will be interesting to see what the lads have to say about his package,in comparison with our own.Steve is looking at a Continental / Zetec version to bring stateside in 2007.I have known Steve and his brother Phil for quite some time, and they owed me a large bill from the Stag dating back to 97' so this is how they will repay it.Just to show how the bloodlines work in that part of the world,Spirit Racing cars is located directly next door to the Van Diemen Factory and the building is owned by Van Diemen founder Ralph Firman. There is a legend in the area that Ralph, who owns the whole street [ including the Van Diemen building ] built his new building only to have a whole big enough to push all of the left over 84 chassis into. Thus you have the foundation of dirt and steel.

Dane's comment to me was that "turbos are no bueno in the rain", and it's supposed to be pretty cold too. maybe dane and robert are just being little girls though, who knows?

Turbo's always blow in the rain...All the sudden you're a-holes over elbows. They're using the 1.8 I believe. The trick with them is to keep the blower engaged (normally around 3500 in the Audi 1.8) and ride the curve into the low 5ks. It's just like running a moto shifter or dealing with a VERY cranky girlfriend.

Spoke with Cambo and the Poodster today after there run in the Spirit/Duratec.Both said it was frightening and it moved a lot! Man the FIA should make it mandatory to do Ford before you do anything else.Everything after it would be a lot easier.A lot of folks used to spend two seasons scaring themselves in Ford before moving on.

    Hey gang,

Just a quick note. Cameron won race two at Snetterton and finished second in the other two races. Podlesni finished 10th in opening race, avoiding an incident and finished fourth in races two and three. Heading into the final three races next weekend, Cameron is second in the standings, Podlesni fourth. http://www.eformulacarnews.com will have a full race report tomorrow.

    Cheers,
