I have no affiliation with this company, but I thought it was more appropriate for the business section. And I thought many of you might be interested in this potentially great deal:

IR Pyrometer Gun - $40

It looks to be the same one many shops sell (under a different name). It *seems* even Longacre rebrands it (http://www.longacreracing.com/catalo...d=1068&catid=7). Not sure if it has the same accuracy, but it's much cheaper. As a side note, it seems that most places (including Longacre and Intercomp) that sell the IR pyrometers don't specify accuracy, only resolution, which isn't very helpful. I think, you can also get a 2yr warranty on it for $8 or so if you go to a retail store, but I could be wrong.

I bought one, but have only used it one weekend with my kart. It "seemed" accurate, but I didn't compare with any known-accurate pyrometers, so I can't give an opinion.

They also sells smaller, cheaper IR temperature devices if you would rather. Search "thermometer": http://da.harborfreight.com/cpisearc...eter&Submit=Go.
