Not to hijack the thread, but it's pretty interesting to watch the video that pru's post links to, and then watch the video that is linked through the last post in the "in-car video" thread. Same track, BMW 325 vs Swift 008.

One of the premier road racing facilities in the U.S.A, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course has recently undergone several changes and upgrades.

Leading the way, the entire 2.258-mile road course has been repaved. Removing the old surface, including the concrete patches, an entirely new surface has been laid, with several modifications. New trackside curbing has been added around the course in all the corners, the drainage has been improved and the runoff areas have been extended and improved, particularly in turn one and turn three. In addition, new connections have been introduced creating a 1.75-mile short course and 0.5-mile oval. These new configurations will be used primarily as part the highly regarded Mid-Ohio School.

Mid-Ohio Sports Course will host a wide variety of racing in 2006, with the highlight for formula car fans, the May 20-21 weekend. As part of American Le Mans at Mid-Ohio, the Formula BMW USA Championship, Cooper Tires Formula Ford 2000 Championship and Star Mazda Championship will all race.

In addition to the ALMS event, Mid-Ohio will host F2000 Championship Series (August 12-13), Skip Barber National Championship (September 2-3), FormulaCar Magazine FSCCA Championship Series (September 9-10), Great Lakes FC/CFC Championship Powered by Eformulacarnews.com (July 1-2) and a SCCA Club Racing National (June 3).

Has there been an SCCA race there yet?

I wonder how much the set-up, tire wear or line has changed??
Here in GA., RRR will be repaved soon so I have some interest in this repaving deal.

The tire squeel (happy tire ) seems to indicate that there is more grip? Or did this happen there before? When they repave do they also re-do the curbing. It looks like they did at MO but I'm not sure if they diden't just paint them?
