    Default Battery powered transponder

I am borrowing a battery powered transponder for a weekend race. I usually use a hard wired style and, so, I have no experience with the battery type. Can anyone tell me how long the battery will keep a charge? Will it last the entire weekend? Should I charge it each day?

    Thanks in advance,

Mine holds a charge for about 4 days. The light will start to flash red when it is getting low. Also, at some tracks there will be a note next to your name on the results that your battery is low.

Also, the green light will flash a certain number of times to correspond roughly to how many days' charge remain.

In other words, three flashes = 3 days run time (approximately).

Flashing red normally indicates less than 24 hours run time remaining.

It should go an entire weekend... depending on your definition of a weekend. Thursday through Sunday is pushing it. Saturday and Sunday is easy -- if you charge it Friday.

    Default Charging...

    Fellas:

Thanks for the response. I noticed last night that the green light was flashing only twice while it flashed three times the day before. I figured that it was an indicator. My weekend at Mid-O will be Friday night through Sunday. I may put it on the charger Saturday evening to be safe.

    Thanks for the input.
