Can the water swirl pot inlet be above the head/thermostat port?
If I put my oil tank where it now needs to go, the swirl pot does not fit unless I move it up high. If I move it to the rear of the engine, I'll need to chop up some body work.

I think it should be located at the highest point in the system in order to help the system self purge.

Mine is higher than the top of the valve cover.
It needs to be above the water level of the head.
