    Default Which Watkins Glen Race

To those of you who usually run at Watkins Glen, which regional do you prefer? This will be for CF class. Is there a spec tire rule for those who run in this group? Looking forward to visiting the Glen this fall. Thanks.

    Default Fun One

Well, the New England Challenge event is 17-18 September (The "Fun One" double regional) and I'm hoping there'll be a sizeable turnout because I plan on being there. (It's my "home" track.) NEC eliminated the CF class on stickies, so if you run in that configuration NEC will classify you as a FF. I believe the Finger Lakes Region would still consider you a CF however as they don't do NCF on the spec tire...

Anyone planning on going to the 23-24 July event??

    Default Which Glen

I'm planning on both, the July and the Septemeber meets.
July is a MARRS race, and September is an NEC. Both are fun weekends, but if I was travelling a great distance I'd pick the double in September.

    Default Sept.at the Glen

Ok, I am going to schedule Sept for the Glen. I have a sister close by and the ladies can take in a NYC trip/B'way show. We will be there with an old Zink Z-10 CF. Please provide more information on tires for CF class if possible. thanks, looking forward to a new track. By the way, we will head to the N.J. shore for a week following the event. What is a good route?

Yes it is older than 1976. The log books show racing summer 75 so car must have been mfg. winter 74 or very early 75. South Jersey, Ocean City area.

Default the jersey shore by way of the Glen

Leave the Glen and take 14 south to 17, 17 towards Binghamton, then pickup 81 South after going thru Binghamton.
Take 81 south to 476, the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, go South towards Philadelphia, go all the way to the end of the NE extension of the pike, mid-county toll, pay toll, then continue on 476 about 3 or 4 exits, to 76, take 76 East towards Philly, keep on 76 and you'll pass the center city area, go around a few bends in the road, then stay right to stay on 76 towards the sports complex and the Walt Whitman Bridge, go over the Walt Whitman bridge and follow 42 south about 10-12 miles to pick up the Altantic City Expressway which divides off to the left at what we call the AC expressway/42 split.
Follow the AC X-way to the Ocean City exit.

I get off the AC X-way at exit 38, and then we're 10 minutes from there and it usually takes us 5.5 hours, so figure another 40 minutes onto that for your trip.
