Snell SA95

Can somebody please tell me if Snell SA95 helmets are good through 2005 or until 2005? I have not yet rejoined the SCCA-so I don't have a rulebook yet.

Bob,

I contacted Brian Cohn, SCCA Topeka, about this in February 03, he stated that the SA 95 helmet is good for ususally 10 years, so you have until 05 before it is obsolete.

eventually '05 helmets will become available...at that time then the only allowed helmets will be '00 and '05. the availability of '00 helmets happened very very late in the '00 year so the SCCA allowed '90 through the year but that was an exceptional situation. if you have a '95 helmet do not expect it to be allowed in '05 if '05 helmets are available in late '04 or early '05

Thanks, I guess I will try to sell a new SA95 Bell Dominator then! I purchased it in 99 or 2000 and never used it!
