    Default ThunderHill Raceway Park WIP

For people who like racing on club circuits:

I started a new version of ThunderHill Raceway Park in Willows, CA on Sunday morning. 14 hours later, I had a nice raceable track that looks a lot better and is simply more realistic. The T-Hill I've seen for rFactor is horrid, so I wanted to do a much better version than the ones already out there. This should be done in another week or two with help from other people creating objects like flagger stands and porta-potties. (:

Granted I've only been there in November, but needs a lot less grass, a lot more mud!

Is this using bob's track builder? I should have a go at building my local track..

Or the water tank to sight on as you go over the top of T9!

Yep, Bob's Track Builder. Makes things take less time, although it has its quirks. T-hill is nice and green for the March National, although I couldn't find any texture that was good enough.

Cows are added, I couldn't forget that. I have the water tank or whatever it is at the top of the hill in T1, but now it sounds like I need another one elsewhere. Gotta do a bridge too. then play around with the paddock...I'm going off of hazy memory for most of this. The big picture makes the track look so boring, but it's much better from the cockpit.

    Cameron,

It looks great. There are now windmills in the infield between the front straight and T5.

Cows, water tanks, windmills. Sounds like mini-golf!

Here's a link to a kinda crappy lap around the latest beta version of T-Hill (somehow I doubt a Megane V6 is as fast a Stohr DSR!):

    Default Looks Great!

Cameron, that looks great! Can't wait to try it in my FBMW. It appears you have the off-camber on the outside of T3 included.
To clarify on the water tower, it sits above T1 on the hill on the southside. When you crest the hill at T9 you sight on it for track position< T9 being fairly blind on the exit.
Let's us know when it's driveable!

Here's a link to what will probably be the last beta. I'm waiting on someone to work on the textures a bit, but the layout is final:

    Thanks Cameron,
Can't wait to try it. Any idea when it will be finalized (league ready)?

If I don't hear back from the guy doing the grass textures, it will be a v1.0 next week... sometimes waiting on others is difficult.

Everything else is tested and ready for live. I already have a huge list of changes for v1.1...

    Hi Cameron,
Any news on how it's going? Should I bump it back in the league schedule?

Version 1.0 is now on rfactorcentral, released publicly. No need to bump it back.

    Default Well Done Cameron!

Hey Cameron, I spent just about all last evening running T'Hill in my FBMW. Just my 2 cents having run T'Hill since it's inception, but Very Nicely done! And just in time for my track day tomorrow!

    Hi Cameron,
It's Thunder Hill time! Do you have a reliable download location for v1.0? I tried the only link that worked on rFC and it's causing the server to close rFactor when I go to launch it. Can you also confirm the path of the ThunderHill2009 folder? When I unzipped it, it created two ThunderHill2009 folders nested within eachother so maybe that's why it was crashing the dedicated server.

    Hi Keith,

There should be two Thunderhill2009 folders, one inside the other as you've noted (I changed these around during the beta process). Does the track work for you locally? I know I have had this v1.0 tested on other servers before as well as my own, so that shouldn't make a difference. The only thing I can suggest is deleting the locations/Thunderhill2009 dir and reinstalling it from mediafire link on RFC.

I am in the middle of Oklahoma now on the exciting hwy 40, otherwise I would goof with it more. If it doesn't work today, maybe it would be best to use another track on the schedule for this round.

I haven't tested it locally yet since it was late and I just wanted to get it going on the server. I can download it again (I deleted what I thought was a corrupt install) and test it out locally tonight.

Nevermind, it was a corrupt download. I had ended the download early when I closed the browser when I started getting a bunch of popups from Mediafire. I just downloaded it again and installed it on the server and all is well now.
