    For Sale RF97 Van Diemen

Very solid and well sorted car. A client bought this car for his son. He had us go through it and clean it up with the proper AN hoses and fasteners, many powder coated parts, new paint, new silicon radiator hoses, etc. It was not a 'down to the frame' restoration, but we made the car look really nice and it is now much more reliable, too. Once we were done with it, we discovered his son had turned to golf. Nathan Thompson, who works for us here at Metcalf Racing, used it in events at Texas Motor Speedway, Mont Tremblant, Watkins Glen and New Jersey. He was second at TMS and won in NJ. The engine was built by Steve Knapp at Elite, and now has 6 race weekends on it. The LD200 is in great shape. A ton of spares come with it including new suspension spares and gears.

There are a couple of things which we would do if we were to continue to run the car. The engine cover does not fit the side pods as well as we would like but is completely serviceable anyway. Racers tape works to fix the problem but a little fiberglass work is the right way. The brake rotors are beginning to rattle a bit when the car is pushed in the shop and paddock. This is an indication that the rotors will need to be changed soon. We had an ignition box failure at Mont Tremblant and it now has a new ignition box on it. You will spend very little money on the car to make it as perfect as a race car can be. You will not be disappointed in this car.

This is a great car and the owner only wants $16,500 for it. I think he has it priced too low. If you need any additional information or photos, just ask. I'm happy to help in any way.

Rotors rattle because they are floating rotors.

Rotors rattle more when the mounting holes in floating rotors begin to wear. Check this link to see some Van Diemen rotors which had worn too far.

The rotor wear on this car is not that advanced yet, but they should be changed before they reach that point.
