I don't think we got into the 17s in a race, but we were in the 17s in practice or Q. I can't really remember anymore.
Congrats to Steve!

As an interesting aside, I have had 0 problems getting K-Line data off of a GSXR600 but had trouble on my F1000.
I get your frustration but this is really the only thing that bothers me. Competitors are under no obligation to disclose anything done on the car to beat the competition. EVER. If SCCA requests...
Obviously Chris' and other Blade customer cases are very different as we already have all that work done and can provide it to them. I was speaking more to anyone else out there with a car (KBS,...
A couple points to note -
Cal's car did not have a vacuum pump on it.
Both wet and dry sump have been on the car with both electric and non-electric pump. The cooling package was not changed...
A well prepped and driven Atlantic is quicker than a well prepped and driven FB. The cars are far too different to really combine well from a cost perspective and how they get the lap times done. I...
I'm assuming their 115K number is some rent a ride cost?
Sounds like some of these are pretty easy fixes... Oh wait, SPEC CLASS!!
Holy. Freaking. Crap.

Yes. I'd look for a rod end failing or a loose fastener. If the rotors are good and no real runout, then I'd look there.
Are the rotors floating rotors? Are they actually floating like they are...
Have you tried Doug at Fast Forward yet? Not sure who he has sourced for the Piper currently, but he might be able to point you somewhere.
Ok ok ok.
Anyone know any good cheap audio editing software? The audio from the camera is horrible for some reason. Something to do with my mounting position I think as the Replay usually gives...
I was most definitely NOT toying. I was driving that car as hard as I could. Unfortunately I never drafted with you to get a really good impression as to which car was the best but it seemed you...
We are all talking about the move around 23:00 correct?
I don't think it was a block. I just think the situational awareness of that car in particular is a little lacking. I've had run ins before.....
I'm running battery only. I believe I was getting a day out of it no problem as long as you remember to turn it off in between sessions and charge it at night.
I don't know what the Pro-Series guys have been given, but I have a XD1080 and love it. Ran it on my Piper F1000 all last year with excellent results.
Not sure if they are using the new 1080 mini...
I have thought for years that SCCA has been slow calling FCY. I'm not sure what takes so long but even when it is blatantly obvious AND in front of the tower, it seems like forever.
This is by far the best course of action for this grouping. Generally a full split start results in the FVs getting lapped too many times. A grid split works much better for the FVs.
Someone hunt down a film intern ;)
I see what you are saying Don. IMO rewrite the rule to allow for open ECUs or stock ECUs with any flash. I do worry a bit about someone going nuts and hooking up a full Motec system if the rules...
Nice detective work! ;)
AWESOME!
I've got an AIM solo and the magnets on the back are quite strong. That said, I'll probably come up with a way to zip tie it as well or something....
It's passively cooled, duh.
No big deal. I'll put it on but it's not gonna be in my airstream!
WTF happened?
Godwin in one post. Huzzah!
All opinions expressed in this thread are expressly those of my father, who must be cranky. :)
Drag = Bad.
Well crap, where did I go wrong?
I hear the constant virgin sacrifices to keep it running strong make it fairly cost ineffective.
Great, Mike hates it and I get quoted ;)
A very excellent point regarding 600 motors. There is a HUGE contingent out there that did nothing but work on 600 drivetrains for their entire college career. Significantly reduces the entry...
Someone want to loan me a car to run something else??? ;)
My sidepods aren't big enough!
:ha:
Very true Mike! I was very surprised they gave us that many laps to go at it after such a long delay. Big thanks to the stewards!
It is Brandon's old car. It is still fast, as if that would change with JR driving!
A little snippet of the as raced wings! Did some development on the wings all weekend and we are definitely getting there. Great package so far! I'm sure someone got some good on track shots.
...
Thanks Lawerence and thanks ETE Reman!
Can't wait for some wheel to wheel action!!!
THIS. A 1000 times this. FVs should never be on track wth FB/FA/FC during a race weekend. The closing rate is too great. Heck, the closing rate with the top 500s is almost too much. This type of...
Don't think we are going to make it, :(
I did, it probably got lost in the mess.
Thanks, I'll contact her.
Just noticed I haven't had my entry refunded from ViR.....
We had to pull out :( Some parts arriving late and we decided for the better prepared route, rather than the insane thrash :(
I used to eat FFs for lunch in one of those smelly things ;)
I race on sponsorship from VISA!
.... at least I think it is a sponsorship.
I wouldn't go that far....
VIR is our plan for now. 95% sure we will be there as long as nothing crops up.
edit// I think I saw on FB that Slahor will be attending as well.
Completely understand what you are saying here, but on a case by case basis I think experimental stuff like this could be approved for use in FS if people wanted to try running it.
No doubt you have!
Don't let the cranky ones bother you ;)
Very cool, love it! I'd be interested in seeing anything that was published as well, wondering what the system is reacting to, etc.
Let's all keep in mind this is someone's senior design project,...
