What is your price range?
Jay did build an electric Novakar for Pike's Peak. However, he made a bunch of changes, including larger wheels and a more traditional coil-over suspension....
We should have a few F500s at Pitt and at Watkins Glen.
This is a rule change, not a clarification.
I have always carried my ballast weight inside my driving suit. [emoji15]
@sathorp - That’s fantastic news that some of the 500 cars might be eligible for Vintage!
Definitely need pictures to be able to offer any specific help. These cars vary significantly - make to make, year to year.
Are you planning to race it wheel to wheel, or run SOLO with it?
...
Sounds like a great weekend! Glad to see a good group.
I only have experience with the Suzuki, and they used to use a 2 year cycle (I run the 06/07 series) but it does look like the 2011-2020 is the same.
I've used 2 different engine builders for my 06/07 Suzuki motors. The best dyno sheet either could produce for me (with 30mm restrictors) was 107 hp @ 13700 rpm, with 46 lb-ft torque @ 10250 rpm.

Maybe both weekends will be good prep for Barber in August. [emoji16]
Great racing both days! I need to install air conditioning, though. This old, fat guy really struggled with the heat -especially on Saturday. But we had a fantastic time all weekend.
Interesting... My 2005 Novakar (Rakavon) had a ton of understeer when I got it. I couldn’t get the back end to come around at all. The guys at Mitchell Racing Service worked on it for me and it has...
This was my first time at The Sprints and first trip to Road America. What a fantastic experience! The weather was perfect. The crowds were great. And the racing was amazing! The fast guys are FAST!...
I use a DID 520 ZVM-X chain. Between sessions, I clean it and lube it with chain wax while it's still warm.
I think it has roughly half the hp of the other options in the class.
I use one of these https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productselection.asp?Product=3228-304 in the line between the main gallery and the oil cooler.
I don't know about the sending unit thread spec.
Will the new Blade bodywork fit the original Rakavon chassis?
....asking for a friend. :o
Hey Carl.
Have you asked the guys over at F500.us? They usually have really good info on the 2-stroke stuff.
The car is in great shape! I just need to work on the driver now.
Hi Jay. I still have it.
Leon went through it for me a couple of years ago and made it like-new. I plan to run mostly Regionals this year down here in SEDiv.
I use -8 lines for my oil.
Here are a couple of pictures of one of Dan's block off plates.
And ditto on what Eric says about priming the engine. It's easy insurance!
No. I’m pretty sure it is recessed so the oil can still flow from one port to the other. I don’t have one handy to look at but I’ll try to get a photo next weekend.
They typically incorporate the o-ring from the oil cooler. The o-ring is needed to provide a good seal under the pressure.
Yep. The car was running like crap and I drove worse. Not a good weekend for us on the track.
Great race! You both had to be close to the lap record. Did you set a new one?
We took the Mitchell Racing/BuggBoyZ F500 to the March Majors at Road Atlanta last weekend and had a BALL! The car performed better than the driver and we were able to capture the 3rd step on the...
I agree with what TDI said. (I try not to agree too much with Clint in public, 'cause it's bad for my reputation! :D )
eBay-stock is fine for a long time.
Rod bolts are a good/legal upgrade. ...
That sounds fun. But if you are planning to race with SCCA, you really need to read the rule book. A lot of what you're doing isn't legal in F500. However, If you just want to build a really cool,...
I'll mail you a bag. This is likely to continue a while. lol
Unfortunately, I've replaced too many starters, too. I haven't found one for our engines.
I think Jay or Dan had some ideas at some point, but nothing ever panned out.
I looked at theoretical best lap (best segment times added together) and ranked them. The difference between Barry (MC) and Thompson (593) is .078 seconds, both ~4 tenths behind Clint. And there's no...
Fantastic run, Clint!! Congratulations!
Good thing I showed you how to get around The Bowl at TGPR all those years ago. Otherwise, you'd prolly just be a backmarker today. LOL
Proud of you,...
Why bring this up... again?
We've been down this road too many times already and it does nothing but make everyone mad. The SCCA has already made the ruling - we are F500. period.
We just had...
I believe many regions have a class for FSAE cars in autoX. But if not, it would still be a really fun car in one of the Mod classes!
Look on-line at the Mini-Sprint suppliers for parts. Hyper...
I stand corrected.
F800 sounds too scary for me!
Apollo - Just for clarification. There is no "F6 class". The F500 class currently allows restricted 4 stroke motors from production 600cc motorcycles along with a the 500cc (and a restricted 600cc) 2...
Nice work! I love the nose-job!
Lookin' good!
Hey Zak! Welcome to the madness.
The Formula 600 Challenge Series championship race will be held in conjunction with the American Road Race of Champions (ARRC) at Road Atlanta over the...
I'm guessing Malibu car or some other rental kart. Nothing but the engine is F440-ish. Does look fun!!
OK, after a quick search it isn't a MGP car.... don't know what it might have started out...
George Bugg
Hey... someone has to be dead last! :D
See y'all at Barber!
Letter sent supporting the merger.
That sounds like the way I have mine. I want to know the temp of the oil before it goes through the cooler. And although the pressure should be the same anywhere in the circuit, I have my sensors...
Hey!!! What'r'ya tryin' to say here, Chris?!?!? :ha:
I might *hic* resemble that comment....
I think the new Blade is going to be awesome - especially on the long straights!
lol!!
I'll probably only see them if they are on the back bumper! But I can't wait to see it on track and in person!
Jay -
I don't see any radiator cooling inlets. I know you were hoping to get enough from a single radiator, so maybe there's an inlet on the oposite side pod?
